Yes but risk isn't all or nothing - it is a sliding scale. FFS it is not like we'd be Risdale under Leeds if we bought another midfielder (that we need!!)
FSG could simply have loaned the club the cash or god forbid invest in the playing side.....they've made a fortune on unrealized value / equity from the club to date. THey have access to mountains of cheap cash. Has anybody seen interest rates lately? it is easy to get access to low interest cash in the current market.
Didn't they initially pay / invest around 5-600 million. According to Forbes the club is now worth £2,960,000,000. So that's let's say £2,000,000,000 profit they'd make if they sold the club. Apologies for the back of the envelope maths.
I'm not a massive FSG fan but I don't think they are bad owners. THey have made good decisions but they are f**king creaming it here big time. When they sail off into the sunset with their £2,000,000,000 profit I genuinely wonder will all the FSG apologists be slapping them on back, saying well done to them they earned it?!
