  1. Paying 70m for a 23 year old striker to alternate with and learn the ropes from our 26 year old first choice striker is a terrible way to spend money, unless you genuinely don't have much else to spend it on.
  2. The moment for him was this summer. Instead of Isak. I am absolutely flabbergasted that there was no plan for Isak and Ekitke besides having to expensive centre forwards competing with each other. The one time we go big and we act like a drunken Barcelona executive. It's beyond terrible planning.
  3. Olise is a star
  4. He needs to show something before we can start doing things he likes. Like anything at all for a start. We can't start building the team around Isak being the centre forward when he looks like he should be in a lower league. Certainly not when there's another player knocking on the the door with performances that actually make you want to build the team around him being the centre forward.
  5. Hopefully this means he starts ahead of mac Allister next time out.
  6. He had a mildly promising cameo as a sub before the wheels came off. Since then, literally the only good thing he's done is a tidy finish from a standing position. He looks like a sloth out there. No intensity, no physicality. Takes an age to execute his moves. I don't even see signs or glimpses of a top player out there. N'gog would wipe the floor with him. I am sure this isn't his level but it's really really hard to see any kind of level in him right now. He's shocking.
  7. Monstrously bad pass from mac Allister there
  8. And patient build up. We'll pass them to death. Or ourselves.
  9. It's gonna be two banks of four, Ekitike running around the training cone called Isak, szoboszlai trying to make a bit happen on his own and Robertson being the sole and occasional outlet otherwise.
  10. If this is what the post Salah world look like, I don't want to live in it. f***ing hell, this might be the most deflating line up since ged started smicer as the lone striker against Newcastle.
  11. Four central midfielders and three centre backs. This will be s*** won't it? How is Konate still getting starts?
  12. Elkjaer is sort of the OG when it comes to singlehandedly winning the league, when he won it with Verona back in '85.
  13. He's lucky in that if it weren't him it could as well have been someone else. Aside from longevity and being local, he doesn't particularly stand out from the best of your Agger, Matip, Gomez, Konate et al. And I'd say Matip was better. Arguably, being a local player gave him playing opportunities to develop that others wouldn't have got. So yes, he's lucky in that circumstances aligned for him to become the player he ended up. Which is not to say it was all luck. There's no one else who could have filled Salah's boots.
  14. Carragher was a good player for us, but at the end of the day he's lucky he got to play for Liverpool. Liverpool are lucky they got to play Mo Salah in a red shirt for this long. He won us a league title Elkjaer style, after 8 years of collecting goalscoring records and player-of-the-year records, being the star man in what is quite possibly our best ever side. They aren't peers and carragher should mind that before he chats more s***.
  15. I do blame him because it's clearly personal for him. He's always had an axe to grind with Mo. He was probably celebrating at home when he saw Salah's comments. He's a vindictive little so and so passing off vendetta as punditry.
  16. At this point, I am starting to think it's by instruction. Or lack of same at any rate.
  17. "I am not punishing you mo, but I have to be seen to be punishing you. I'm sure you understand. It's common sense stuff."
  18. LOL - what kind of s***ty job do you plebs work that won't even hire a driver for you so you can get slammed as you like. You need to change your priorities and it starts with positive thoughts, lil'buddy. Unless you're my driver. Then thank you for your service and please stay sober.
  19. Yep. If he had been signed as a main man and used as one, we'd be in a better place right now. He's played like the main man, but not treated like one. Imagine Torres sitting out the games Ekitike has been sitting out in his debut season. It would have been weird and confusing. We've handled our new signings so so badly. Even the good ones.
  20. Klopp interrim with Xabi taking over in the summer would be the dream ticket for me.
  21. s***s going down I will be annoyed if Klopp ends up at Madrid because we passed on him.
  22. Tuchel makes it work in spite of his lacking personality.
  23. I think I'd prefer Song right now.
  24. You didn't have to bring that up. f***ing Viduka.
  25. I think it's a general rule that failure at Real Madrid says nothing whatsoever about one's ability, whether player or manager. It's the most idiosyncratic club in the world by a mile. That is the actual issue. Is there? This seems like assumption.
