Paying 70m for a 23 year old striker to alternate with and learn the ropes from our 26 year old first choice striker is a terrible way to spend money, unless you genuinely don't have much else to spend it on.

He had a mildly promising cameo as a sub before the wheels came off. Since then, literally the only good thing he's done is a tidy finish from a standing position. He looks like a sloth out there. He's lucky in that if it weren't him it could as well have been someone else. Arguably, being a local player gave him playing opportunities to develop that others wouldn't have got. So yes, he's lucky in that circumstances aligned for him to become the player he ended up. Yep. If he had been signed as a main man and used as one, we'd be in a better place right now. He's played like the main man, but not treated like one.
