  1. It's hard to believe it's the same manager. We looked a cert to pick up a CL trophy within the next few years if we just kept it up.
  2. That's one of the main reasons why I think slot isn't good enough. We have no organised press this season. I can't believe we spend any time at all on it in training. It's all solitary efforts. This reminded me of that super easy goal we scored against Solskjaer's united in the 5-0 win because they had no clue how to pres.
  3. Aye. You can tell he used to play as a second forward. But he's still got the strikers mentality.
  4. We are one of the two teams he is actually allowed to play for in Europe this season. He's already played for us, that's why he can't play for a third.
  5. When all parties agree, contracts can be altered. We aren't doing that because we see it as Villa and Elliots problem. It's deplorable.
  6. You have correctly divined the substance of my argument: Because I said so. I don't understand what's so unreasonable about that. Just because it's my completely arbitrary opinion?
  7. If that's true then Slot refusing to take him back is heartless to the point of cruelty.
  8. It's guardiola snobbery isn't it? Can't work with anything less than top shelf and then only the top shelf players to his particular liking. Feck knows where he got it from. We hired him from f***ing feyenoord.
  9. It's not like we're missing attackers or anything. It annoys me how narrow Slot's perception of player potential is, especially after being used to Klopp seeing racehorse potential in every donkey in the stable and making the players believe it as well.
  10. I think a big part of that conditioning is the intensity of training. And everything on the pitch suggests that'll it's super low.
  11. Rodgers was one slip from spoofing the league. I think the mistaken assumption is that managerial level is static. But I don't think it's any less susceptible to pressure, confidence and stress than player performance. If anything moreso. Slot isn't the same manager this season. The question is whether he's going to bounce back. I think there's things speaking against it, entrenchment is really hard to break when you are the cause of it, the one in charge of it and wholly caught up in it. But maybe the summer will provide a reset for him and the coaching team. I also don't think it's as easy to re-saddle tactically and trainingwise during the season as one might think. My impression is that quality of training seems to deteriorate over the course of a season across the board.
  12. Happened to a lot of players since Klopp left despite us running the least in the league.
  13. It just means he's 50% better than we thought he was initially.
  14. He wanted to stay at leverkusen two years ago. Also if we refuse to sign anyone who might prefer Madrid to us we'll be out of good players and managers real quick.
  15. Yup. Unfortunately.
  16. He's been rather good at sounding sane in press conferences for the most part but this is pure roy and shows he's not in the right headspace at all. Has lost all sense of proportionality and direction and is just fumbling with whatever is right in front of him without any raising of the gaze.
  17. A center back? Oh my word.
  18. Should be John the Lionheart Terry. These players need to be cucked and racially abused (#bantz) to find their level.
  19. Tbf, Chelsea is the only top club giving chances to young English coaches.
  20. I'll Schlotter your beck in a minute, girl.
  21. Also he weirdly seems to really want to play for Sunderland. Leverkusen wanted to keep him and he kicked up a fuzz because he wanted to go there.
  22. Always think Evans got a raw deal in terms of legacy. He did a great job of turning things around after Souness and actually had us playing very modern positive football. Recruitment was s*** though but I think he was also shafted in that regard. We replaced Barnes and Collymore with Leonhardsen and Riedle ffs. Leonhardsen. Meanwhile lesser clubs around that time were signing players like Zola, Vialli, Ravanelli, Juninho, Overmars, Gullit, Ginola and Asprilla. The rest of the league was raising the level by bringing in Italians, Dutch, French and Brazilian and we were treading water by stockpiling Norwegians. Imagine we'd shown a bit of boldness over his last two seasons and gone for players like Kohler, Gullit, Zola or Vialli. Or some foresight and signed Hamann from Bayern instead of Newcastle.
  23. I think it's because he's doing good stuff on a regular basis. Can't compare to Palmer. Journos write tributes to the loudness of his farts when he deigns the public worthy of hearing them.
  24. Gomez treated like a dog #SlotHatesFringePlayers.
  25. I don't think er won it because everyone else took the season off. We won at a canter and could easily have gotten 93+ if needed. Don't think it's a slight to say Klopp would have won it too. I don't want to say it was Klopp's team, but it is a hard not to consider given how we are now and how our main failings are basically all in the areas Klopp excelled at instilling into his teams. But I think one of the biggest differences is also that Slot is having a really poor season. He's not making the same decisions he was last year.
