In one of his summer videos about what he thought we'd do with the new signings he basically said he saw Frimpong as backup to Bradley and otherwise a tactical option.
-
He's still the best keeper in the league at a canter. I swear some people don't realise what we have in him.
-
For the first time in ages I feel like the game is ripe for a genuine re-emergence of the libero. A new Sammer or, goodness, Beckenbauer could redefine the role of the modern defender in a back three. Even someone like lucio would be the hottest thing going in today's game.

Mane was better than Torres. Did more in the build up and had absolutely loads of bottle. When the chips were down and the team was struggling he was the one who could turn a game on his own.
-
Starting to look like a player
-
Carroll was obviously the replacement.
-
He left us too join Chelsea. When he could have partnered with Suarez. The blert.
-
Weird take coming in. Take the size out of the equation and that's a Mane compilation 100%. Sadio did all of that and more, but he could never make it look as cool as Torres. With his frame and balance he was elegance personified.
-
Just realised that Torres never actually won any trophies with us. I loved rafa to the bone, but with 15 years of hindsight, I am really wondering now how you can go three seasons with a team like that and not win anything.
-
I reckon he's probably more attached to LFC than his other clubs (besides Atletico). It was where he was the happiest and played the best, but probably also a club that gave him a far more grounded environment than somewhere like Chelsea. Still, he made his bed and all.

I am inclined to agree with the first sentence (except it should say "will be" rather than "is"). Second sentence is the kind of horses*** that further adds to my dislike of Carragher. Twunt. Next up, what was Rush without Dalglish? Also, if you take a great player out of a great team and put him in a s*** team and he doesn't play as well, isn't he really a bit s***?

I've been googling our new lad Jacquet and apparently he's real hyped and has been so for a long time, which I suppose goes some way to explain the fee. He's basically seen as the lynch pin of the national team's back line in the years to come and largely considered a cert to become world class. I am far too old and jaded to be jumping on youth hype trains but in him and Leoni we might, just might, have signed two lads good enough to fill the boots of the ageing players they are succeeding. There will never be another Van Dijk but I will settle for the next Thuram and Bastoni.

I know his execution wasn't great (still got an assist) but I was far more encouraged by the fact that he actually got on the ball in positions to do things and had players around him to try other things than a shot at goal. And the work he went through seemed to have a positive effect on the attack overall. He knows how to get on the ball and try stuff and having someone doing consistently was a big improvement to our overall play. Basically the thing we've struggled to manage for him all season. Let's see how he is with a few more games like this.

The EU was also better off with UK in it. You can come back anytime you sort out your identity crisis and we'll all be happier.

Feels. It's right there in the post man.

I think he'll be better than torres. Holds it up better, better in the buildup and awareness of team mates, better touch. Maybe not quite as silky and elegant, but his swagger is irresistible. -

Is such late kick off on a Saturday new? I don't recall that but maybe It's me. At any rate it's annoying. I was looking forward to a tidy afternoon being snowed in with a good game on the telly. -
We might have been better off with a cheaper striker and a proper left winger.
-
Maybe not a 130m striker.
-
Also Atalanta was the best team we played that season. They put in a hell of a performance and went on to win the cup.
-
The current premier league is basically what it must have been like for Italian teams in the 90s. "oh you're the newly crowned English champions? Casual 3-0 midweek bitch slap before playing a much harder game on the weekend against a mid table side featuring Toldo, Zanetti, Rui Costa and Batistuta."
-
Right? I understand he's under pressure but wtf.
