  1. 62 points from the last 38 games. That get's you 6-8th, mostly 7th, over the past 10 years. But we won't get to 62 this season.
  2. it's worse https://www.thisisanfield.com/2026/02/arne-slot-liverpool-days-off-explained/
  3. It actually infuriates me to think that he might be not just bad at his job, but intentionally low effort and half-hearted about it. He's the manager of Liverpool f***ing FC and he's phoning it in. He's becoming a Hodgson figure of aggro right now for me.
  4. Hello all. A fine morning not to be playing a game I'd say. Has he been sacked yet?
  5. I am OK with Gerrard doing the interrim at this stage. Too little for him to get it permanently unless he wins the CL. In which case I suppose we'll have to suffer through it. Anyone would be better than slot at this point as he's poisoned the well. Gerrard is anybody.
  6. I am angry he's not sacked at this stage. No Arne. The boos were all for you.
  7. They know they just need the one goal to seal it. This will be uphill from the start.
  8. I don't know who this guy is but we all knew through evidence on the pitch that the quality of training and fitness is too low and that's why he has to go. Still shocked that Slot's approach to it might actually be lackadaisical.
  9. Whenever someone posts a tweet I am sat there praying it's about the board convening or something like that, in those 2-3 seconds it takes to load.
  10. There was a period where him being sacked would have been a mixed experience, a dignified "it had to be done, but most of we should remember how much he's done for us." If he were sacked tomorrow I'm afraid my initial response would be an elated fist bump and jumping for joy, before I could compose myself.
  11. We're entering the magic window of opportunity where any man and his dog can score against us.
  12. I have some sympathy for... Unorthodox usernames.
  13. I wasn't amused. I filed it under "sack him now ffs".
  14. I think Barton was on the radar for the summer he got sacked.
  15. Last night I dreamt that this game ended 2-2. So there you have it.
  16. https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1NDXiZWHC3/ I want football like this again. Doesn't have to be all the time but we're never scoring a goal like this with slotball.
  17. I think it is what he's been trying. The whole stale possession-based approach I think only started around november. Before that we were just getting plainly overrun in midfield for the most part. I think it's his attempt at defensive control really. And I think we have improved a little by doing so. It's just that it's still s***. We've implemented a change and the result of successful implementation is still s***. So he's gotta go.
  18. "Few games". It was a run of bad form for the ages. At any rate a renewal would be nice, even if him not renewing would be OK too. So long as he understands that we're basically hoping to upgrade on him, but will happily play him insofar as he plays better than the upgrade candidates. At least until a point where van dijk can't cut it anymore.
  19. Guardiola would be a really weird, hilarious and exciting appointment. The cognitive dissonance would be off the charts. All over the country.
  20. If we manage to lose to spurs and then crash out to galatasaray, he might, just might, actually get sacked before the season is over.
  21. I give him a lot of credit for it. He probably played that season better than Jürgen could have. That said, "is great at maximizing performance from a team already superbly drilled, motivated and fit" is a very specific skill set.
  22. The deciding factor in this really is performance over results. If we were playing like a promising team in transition, like we did in Rafa's and Jürgen's debut seasons, this would be different. We weren't winning as many games as we ought to, but you could see what we were trying to do and that were in a process of being put together. I don't see anything out on the pitch that makes me think "OK, we really struggle to see out games and put games to bed, but what we're doing for 40-60 minutes in those games is really bright stuff." There's nothing on display that makes me think there's a project here that's worth investing time and patience in. And this is true when we are winning games as well. The last time I thought there might be something there was the draw against Arsenal. And that was itself a solitary occurrence. We can't throwing away this team's potential on so little.
  23. We wouldn't have finished them off though. If we had taken an early lead we'd have immediately retreated.
