This actually annoys me. The fans aren't being reactive here. This isn't because of a run of form or a fixture list. This is more than a a year of inadequacy. And now after sitting on their hands for four months, their conviction could be challenged by a looming fixture list. Ineptitude disguised as patience.

Coutinho, Lallana and Wijnaldum didn't look like Klopp players before they were either. Klopp would have absolutely loved working with Wirtz.

That's not my recollection of it. But at any rate, I should still prefer to have Wirtz ahead of that midfield two than Gakpo.

Come on. It's a textbook two. Most 442s would give more resilience on the flanks than what Salah and Diaz could hope to offer. Did the Liverpool teams of old not play 442 either because Dalglish sat a bit deeper than rush and one winger tended to tuck in a bit more than the other?

Klopp played Szoboszlai and Mac Allister in a midfield two on occasion. Worked alright. So many things that could never work with the best of players under this manager would be eminently possible under a proper one.

We're currently 3 points ahead of Brentford and Everton, 5 ahead of Fulham. Next two league games are Fulham and Everton either side of PSG. When we play Fulham, Brentford will be playing Everton. When we play Everton, Brentford will be playing Fulham. It's an exciting tussle for places 6th to 9th unfolding over the coming weeks really.

Aye. For 30 minutes we passed the ball about decently, and even created a clear cut chance or two. It's the stuff of dreams really. I don't know why the media are so intent on focusing on the succeeding 25 minutes of the game, just because city scored four. -
It's a s*** argument though. xG simply tells a story that we deserved to lose but not by that much. But in a single game it won't capture nuances, such as how the teams change their approach based on the scoreline. If city needed or wanted more chances they could have got them. And they might not have scored them.

Pretty sure they'd be getting off much lighter with a better coach winning more games.
