This is probably the most ridiculous thing that's happened this season.

Positively utopian.

The difference is what was happening on the pitch. We could all see what Klopp was working towards and that patience was clearly merited - we all wanted to see what that could evolve into. Conversely, we can all see that Slot is going nowhere and that there is no pointing waiting for further devolution.

I'd say it as: he's an excellent 5th choice forward, a decent to good 4th choice and a frustrating 3rd choice forward.

We're at the same stage now with Slot as United were with Amorim. We'd literally be better without a manager and have a group of senior players decide on some training patterns and line up to see out the season. He's not just not good enough. He's a net negative.

I know he's been s*** and all but I think it's also only partly his fault. He's always been a decent to good player with not a lot of variety in his game. He's got a good trick or two up his sleeve and the rest is training patterns of play for variety. That works pretty well in a good setup for a squad player in the price range we shopped in. But there's no patterns of play he can fall back on and his confidence has tanked with the rest of the group. And far too much has been put on his shoulders in terms of holding down the left wing slot. Give him proper competition in a functioning team and I think we'll go back to being glad to have him.

My count is up to 6 after Galatasaray.

Think the awfulness could easily have been evited if they had acted even as late as January.

It's got to be Alonso. If it's not, whoever gets it will have his delayed appointment hanging over him like the sword of damocles.

That was top class. Galatasaray played into our hands a lot but then there's loads of teams where we ought to be able to do similar and don't.

I'll be cheering for a win but the potential silver lining to this game is as big as I can remember.

Real and atletico Madrid. Frankfurt (lol). Arsenal was goodish. The one we didn't win I mean. So was villa. That's it.

Hate to say this, but he would know the right way to celebrate.

I think he's a bit heartless, now suspecting he might also be a bit lazy and he's definitely snide. But these would all be acceptable if he were doing a proper job. That said I reckon the heartless bit makes him a poor longterm manager and the lazy bit a poor manager in the short and long term. Besides that he seems sound enough though.
