I don't think we were dreadful. We were somewhere between OK and fine against a wholly uninspired west ham side. But there was nothing in the performance for me to suggest we aren't still the softest team in the league, ready to roll over the moment the opposition brings a bit of intensity and quality to their game. I don't think we learned much new from it, other than that Gomez is still good and Wirtz looks to be coming good. Still, it's a win and as such a springboard for building something, provided we can grind out a win next time.

It's all about framing though, isnt it? Klopp was absolutely delighted to have someone like Endo as sixth choice, and would be dead excited about what Nyoni and Bajcetic could turn into. Slot doesn't care about that and so for him their value is what they can do when given 20 minutes here and there, which adds up to "not even worth it". Frankly Slot should be delighted to have someone like Endo as 6th choice. But Endo won't get the minutes needed for that to be appreciated.

He was poor again today. Failing to gift the opposition a goal does not a good performance make. He was making hard work of simple passes, both receiving and giving.

Two poor teams. One played ok the other one was dreadful. I'll take it.

Not in that way. Mac Allister solves problems for his team mates as good as anyone, facilitates play really well and does a decent job of creating good situations and opportunities now and then. I don't think he creates good situations and opportunities in the same way as Wirtz was primed to do throughout the game today. I don't mean chance creation per se, but also those passes that allows team mates to create opportunities, or to do more than they would have been able to with a regular pass. I don't think today's performance was outrageous or anything. It was basically on the level of a standard good Firmino performance. It was just a type of performance we haven't really had since Bobby.

Haven't seen this type of performance from a Liverpool player since Firmino left. He just made better decisions on the ball than the others on the pitch and brought his team mates into good situations.

Jones has turned the game on its head since coming on. What a performance.
