torres took a paycut to join maybe Suarez did the same

We don't know what the situation is with Agger except for twitter talk. I hope there is nothing in it as we need to have less player turnover
-
you know what I mean, people are rationalising his sale by saying he misses a 1/3 season of a season. To me he is irreplaceable especially considering where we are at the moment
-
I don't really want us to sell Agger we won't be able to replace him, we are not in the CL we are a mi-table club, but by keeping our core we can challenge for top 4. By core I mean the lollowing players Reina Johnson Agger Skrtl Lucas Gerrard Suarez 7 players who can potentially walk into any team in the PL, we need to keep and build. If we sell Agger to City I would feel it would be the beginining of the end. As it is I am getting tired of football every transfer window we are seeing our squad decimated by money men. You know 4 years ago we had a midfield of Alonso and Masc and now we have Shelvey and Spearing it is depressing how far we have fallen in such a short space of time. I'm not asking for a sugar daddy or anything like that. I would just prefer we were able to keep our current crop of key players and build from there,

KAKA on loan is the rumour

I always thought that Barry was bought in to give more options as opposed to replace Alonso. From what I remember Rafa wanted Barry in and then Keane and somehow Rick Parry went and got Keane first and then tried to go after Barry, but Villa put the price up meaning that he became more expensive than originally thought i.e from £13m to £18m meaning that Rafa had to find the difference. Let be honest prior to the 08/09 season Alonso was not playing at his best for the previous 2 seasons ( i think he was injured and some lack of form, and if I am not mistacken in the semi vs Chelsea at Anfield he was on the bench ). No one wanted to buy him at £14m and to be honest that says it all. Also we sold Keane and 6 months later and that disappeared and then the Alonso money was not given to Rafa as he said he wanted to bring in Jovetic as well as Aqualini but could not get them both. The rug was pulled under Rafa I do not hold him responsible for Alonso leaving. When he had money to spend he done it wisely I do not blame him for Aqualini as he was told by the medical team he would be back by the end of Sept and as it is it dragged on till xmas. We did'nt learn anything from that exercize as we bought Carroll when he was injured. I am really pissed off where we are at the moment it was only 3 years ago in our team we had Mascherano, Alonso, Torres add in Gerrard and Reina we had 5 WORLD CLASS players. You look at it know Gerrard is no where near to that level and Reina's form has dipped. It brings tears to your eyes when you see what has happened in such a short space of time and the money we have just wasted on Downing and Carroll. I think Henderson is one for the future and Adam was only £6m so no complaints. I am sure Rafa would have spent that money more wisely - you could have signed 3 out of Cavani / Llorente/Lavazzi/Hamsik for what we wasted on those 2. We are now miles behind as FFP and no champions league means we won't be able to attract the top players this summer. To me this was really make or break time and we have failed miserably, regardless of what Kenny says he knows the league is the bread and butter and he has failed miserably
-
Not sure were they will go now. If we win both cups the rug meant is there to keep Kenny if not then he may have to walk. You can say all this about what he has done for the club but was over 20 years ago. Kenny should be judged against what we judge all managers. Rafa used to get a rough ride in 2004/5 and he spent nothing like the amount Kenny has and the squad you can argue was worse back then. I am actually worried for the club, I did not want Dalglish to come back for this very reason, everyone is starting to turn on him and he is not enjoying it anymore. I hate it at the moment it should not have got to this stage.
-
hold on rafa made some bad buys based on his budget, he was always playing catch up gainst the other clubs. He spent like £2m on Arbeloa when the going rate for a full back was something nearer £18m. I personally don't hold him resposible for some of the buys he bought what he can afford. If I'm honest however I do believe that the money KD spent on Carroll, Downing, Henderson & Adam - around £80m Rafa would have spent much better.

is still on, 14 games to close 4 points with both a*** and Chelski to come to Anfield.

Bale does it all the time, I do find it annoying esp as they roll around like there leg has fallen off and then 2 mins later they are fine. Nani's from last year at Anfield was the best though
-
surely the question of whether we wasted alot of our transfer funds depends on how much we had to start with. No one knows, what you do know is that if they need to spend they will, it's the moneyball. I think that all will come good, Henderson and Carroll have just moved from there hometown clubs so will need to settle, Carrol has never been fit while he has been here once he is he will be awesome. Henderson as such does not have a defined role in the team and will in theory drop out once Gerrard is back though to be honest I do see him as a box to box midfielder who can supplement a more defensive/holding Gerrard. Adam against the lessor opposition will keep things nicely ticking over so no issues their. To be honest I am happy with the transfer dealing with only the Meireles transfer a bit annoying but he wanted to leave so nothing you can do about it

Stupid post especially the comparisons of when Spurs got beaten by Man U and Man City. At that time they did not have Adebeyor and Modric was wanting to leave, and I don't think they had Parker either. We were down to 9 men when they scored 3 of their goals that was'nt even mentioned. The writer clearly has forgotten that we are transition and are trying to build for the future, when you add Johnson and Gerrard into the team we will look completely different do you really think Bale would have been able to do what he did to Skrtle to Johnson ?. It was a bad day at the office that's it, hopefully that is our only one this season but it happens as we all know. Dalglish got his tactics wrong he knows that and he knows more about football than me and probably most other fans on this forum. We need to trust him and see were we finish at the end of the season before we pass final judgement on him. I personally can't wait to go to the big clubs don't forget under Dalglish last season we did not lose against the teams in the Top 4 in fact we got 10points out of 12 and that is without Torres
-
Torres could have gone in the summer and no-one would have begrudged him, but he stayed because I honestly felt he wanted to see the club turned round if he left in the summer whilst we would have got £50m I doubt we would have been able to re-invest like we have done. I think by Jan he felt there was no way we would get CL that would have meant 2 years without Champions League for him, don't forget Chelski spent £75m that window to win the league and CL and they still won nothing, and now another £40m it is ridiculous as Arsene said financial doping. To be fair he wasn't worth the £50m when we sold him so it is a good bit of business on our side. I think he will do well for Chelsea but they will have to spend alot of money to get them there - Mata and Meirles already goes to nearly £40m just to accomodate Torres, and I think Modric on top so another £40m in total they will have to spend near enough £80m to get Torres upto the level he was 2 years ago unless by then he is completly shot. We have been great this transfer window got rid of the deadwood, what are Chelsea going to do, they wuill have to replace at least 6 players next summer - Cole, Terry, Lampard, Anelka, Drogba, Ivanavich because they are all over 30 NOW the FFP if applied correctly should mean that they will find it difficult. Torres may bring in extra marketing but no-where near the extent he was at Liverpool were the Torres No 9 was the biggest selling shirt in the world I am hoping he goes to another country and to be fair I would love him back as you can see him and Suarez forming an amazing partnership and that is where he wins his club trophies as when he was playing for us for those first 2 years he was an unbelievable player.
-
Yes ref mistakes or inconsistencies cost us points. Look at the Chelsea pen yesterday the player made the same movement as Suarez vs Sunderland , fair enough it was the keeper that made the foul but the ball was going away from goal that was the reason for not sending of Richardson. Your telling me we would not have beaten Sunderland then ?

Just rereading his autobiography and he mentioned that when he was getting a hard time from GH and Thommo he asked his agent to contact Man U and Arsenal about a move, and they said they were'nt up for it. What would you think of him if he went to the Mancs ? would this have been worse than Torres going ?
-
No European Football is not a bad thing we can concentrate on the league, these Thursday games were crap anyway.
-
heard a rumour he gave the half time team talk vs West Ham
-
Does it really matter who is the biggest team, yes we have a bigger history - 18 leagues, 5 Euro Cups etc... But how much does it matter in this day and age, surely it matters more to be the best, I think Shanks always used to start the new season with a clean slate Are we right to get wound up by Nando's comments ? Look at some of the biggest clubs in History - Notts Forest 2 Euro Cups, Aston Villa 1 Euro Cup between them, the same number of Euro cups than the current top 5 Surely as much as I hate to say it surely money matters now
-
don't worry the chelsea team and manager worthe around the £300m mark and a weekly wage of probably more £2m could'nt figure it out either. Ladyboy said the 3 centrebacks surprised them and after 90 mins could'nt think of a way to get through how much do they get paid ? thick c**ts
-
possesion is King !! just the stats something like 56-60%. If you have the ball the other team can't score and it is the Liverpool way pass and move. I thought Aurielio kept it ticking over in Midfield with Lucus with simple passing movements, that is what we are about
