to be fair he was one of my favorite players, some of the stuff he could do and rip apart teams made him the best striker in the world. I will miss him, I am gutted that he went to Chelsea. The issue here is not Torres it is Chelsea, how in the hell can a team which each year makes a loss ( £70m in 2010 ) go out and tempt one of our players, we hopefully not be affected by this Fair Play as we are a global name and generate enough revenue. Chelsea need Torres more than we need him, they have more rebuilding to do then we have and as yet the penny haw not dropped on their side. They have to replace Drogba, Anelka, Terry, Malouda, Lampard, Cole over the next 1-3 years, don't forget Chelsea buy ready made stars and they are expensive Roman may not be able to rebuild as fair play rules may dictate he cannot. Chelsea has ruined football and our club, Moores ( OK not the greatest Owner and RP probably the worst Chief Exec ) would not have sold the club to these Americans if he felt he could still compete against his russion roubles. Chelsea have ruined the game and yes they may win the League and Cup but it will be because of one man and his money. It will be nothing to do with history and tradition. Shankly dragged the club from the second division and made us winner, Paisley then built on his triumph we were never anyone's plaything. The players sign for Liverpool because as the King said it they want to play for us - Torres went for the money otherwise why nearly double your wages ?, don't forget Owen took a paycut to go to Madrid he is a true winner. Liverpool is always about the team, Rushie even though he was World Class would work tirelessly to win the ball back, Fernando only when he felt like it ( which in the last 18 months was hardly ever ). I won't boo him, it does hurt that he has left but we are rebuilding and do not need players of his ilk playing for us. At least I won't have to listen to his moaning to the ref and constant falling over anymore. Don't forget at one point we had 5 World Class players and still did not win anything - LFC is about the team and the players we as fans need to help the players on Sunday and focus our energies on them as opposed to some mercenary who pretended to understand us.

you could see that result coming from the 10th minute, why did you not change earlier you face rubbing prat ? why did you not defend further up the pitch ? why did you play a central midfielder out wide ? why did you keep lucas on the whole 90 mins surely moving Meireles into the centre and taking off Lucas off would have been better ?why do you keep on playing one of the worst LB's I have ever seen, he is'nt even considered for England when when Cole & Bridge are injured. show some pride hold up your hands and admit the job is too big for you no one will think bad of you

I thought we played well actually, give the guys some creedit went to Spurs with 2 up top had 3 one on ones, a few other chances which across the goal. Ues Spurs had some chances but I thought the ref was a disgrace today. He booked Meireles early for a tackle which was not even a foul meaning he had to be on guard for most of the game. You look at the game and yes they had 2 cleared off the line but these were deflected to the players, the first goal was a OG which could have gone anywhere and the winner was due to to LB who we all know is no where near the quality that is required from a club like Liverpool. I thought Meireles and Lucas were outstanding and yes Maxi missed a chance but in the whole both him and Dirk played well. The ref gave a pen for a handball outside the area, had numerous chances to book their players but did'nt. I doubt many teams will go to Spurs this season and have 3 one on ones

I for one do not want to go down the Super-rich owners, look at Man u before the Glazers they showed the way to do it, they were run amazingly well and were worth £1bn at one point. If we could build the stadium built with a mortagage and get decent commercial people ( H&G seemed to have at least done that, though they only had to better Parry which is'nt difficult ) then the club would sustain itself no problem. the team to be honest this season only needs 2 or 3 extra players, we have 3 players who would walk into any team in the World ( reina, gerrard & torres ) you could add Masc to that list of he stayed. Not many clubs in the PL have that level of WC players. I honestly believe that we could do very well this season in the league.

means defenders will have to start thinking of how to deal with him and Nando, sit deep to negate nando's pace, but fall to Crouch height, or play more upfield to defend against Crouch's height but now susceptable to Torres pace

if a player is good enough he will make it - Gerrard, Carra, Owen, Fowler, Macca etc...but we don't have anyone at the moment who can make it through Also when these guys came through it was a different ball game not as much pressure, also I think the last managers were not good at bringing through youth The best example unfortuantely is Slur Alex of a guy who is really good at bringing kids through. People talk about Wenger but the players he brings through are already nearly the finished article. The only truly world class player he has bought through is Fabregas but he got him from Barca anyway

I am personnally gutted, I felt that there werer only a few better managers than Rafa out there, and they are all with new clubs. The issue is with the owners, we need to get rid and quickly. I am devasted with what has happened to my club, Rafa bought alot to the club, but some of the performances last season were disgusting like Portsmouth, Wigan, Wolves & Hull away, we showed no passion & drive, on top of that Rafa did not change the team until it was too late. A manager with guts like Mourinho would have made the change at half-time or even earlier, Rafa obsession with not losing games cost us the league in 2008/2009 and his stubborness/ lack of man management cost us players like Robbie Keane & Xavi Alonso. He moans about having no money but then spends £18m on a right back and a midfielder for another £18m who he does not play as the opponents/conditions are not right. He can't seem to get out of players, Babel for example when we signed him he probably had the choice of any team in the world, but we messed up his development, Wenger would have done brilliantly with him. Half of me is hoping that we have to sell our players and that go nearly into administration just so we can get rid of the Cancer that is our 2 owners, and then start from scratch with an owner that understands our club and fans. The club exists for the fans, we are currently going through one of our worst stroms in our history but we have been through worst and got through it, this is the time that we need to get behind the club ( not the owners ) as the club really needs us now. We need to think outside of the box and be innovative in our approach in ways of getting rid of the owners, I still can't believe how they have lied to us over the last few years, they are probably laughing behind our backs. I don't blame Moores for selling to these guys it is who advised him - Rick Parry the useless CEO who let the club stand idle during his tenure, whose lack of foresight meant that we did not build a new stadium when if was feasable to do so, the same CEO who had no commercial acumen so that when you went to buy something on the website 8 times out of 10 it was out of stock, who also allowed Man Utd to overtake us in terms of commercial income from other activities such as merchandising etc... I don't want a billinaire to come in and be our sugar daddy, we did not have to go down this road in the first place if we had a more competent CEO over the last 20 years, we could have built the stadium and had a team to be proud of, but the problems have long been here with the muppets we have let run the club since we last one the league in 1990. The team we have is a top 4 team just look at the world or Europeon class players we have - Gerrard, Torres, Mascherano, Reina, Johnson, Agger most of those players would walk into any team in the world, Liverpool and in fact all teams never have 11 worldclass players they have maybe at the most 3-4 and then the rest were there for the team. Look at the great Liverpool sides we used to win leagues with players like Fairclough, Lee, McDermott. the one positive I can see is that maybe they got rid of Rafa as new owners are coming in and did not want to do the dirty themselves, it is easier for the outgoing management to make unpopular decisions.
