I'd love to see a 2014-esque Arsenal-style blitz with 4 goals in the opening 20mins. That was only a week after we dismantled Everton also very quickly in the 1st half. It would be great to see us flowing forward and Everton heads falling off not knowing whats coming next.

I think up until about I was 33(ish), I could do the Sunday afternoon drinking and the Sunday 4pm game was great. My threshold for Sunday beers fell off a cliff in the last few years. They used to be boss, but now I hope we get more Saturday 5.30s or a Saturday 8 o'clock. I loved the random Friday evening game that we got once or twice as well.

That was just a grim Summer all round.

Dean Saunders and Mark Wright felt like big transfers and I think Mark Walters came in that Summer too. Time does funny things to your memory, but they felt like statement moves at the time.

I wonder about this situation hitting other teams. We go out in every game to pin teams back irrespective of our CB personnel. Players like Jones are not being asked to change their game when coming into the team- they are asked to believe that if they can take a risk on the ball. Given we are still dominating teams with the ball but without our personnel then it makes it a little easier to take on the (promise) we get back our injuried players and double-down our approach. Klopp has turned Liverpool into a machine.

100% - our lads are walking out on to that pitch fully believing they are the better team. We'll see the reality when City start passing it and running off the ball and how well we cope. Likewise, if we can trouble them given we've been a little blunt lately. But when the whistle goes, we'll believe we are the better set of players.

I can't see Fabinho playing in midfield again this season given the established defenders are out for the season meaning it would require the 2 new lads to be performing very well. We've battered City in big games, in 3 games we have held a 3 goal lead. They've done it twice in more meaningless games (red card and after the title win). If we don't beat them, I don't expect to get rolled over (assuming its Alisson and Fabinho being back and having a good midfield and front 3 - big assumption these days !)

Henderson in midfield please and let’s see this Kabak. Klopp talked about schooling the lads in the limited training sessions about how the defensive line operates. He didn’t say as much but seemed to hint at - if he picks it up in the next two training sessions then one could play but not both.

Health & Safety first - good thinking not letting Liverpool leave the UK, I think thats only right ! But yeah. Strange. They have to travel 800km to Budapest or 1,100km to London so they have to do a long travel either way so the impact differential for them is minor. But surely they force Liverpool to travel. We could probably get an extra training session in for the prep with the time saved with a short trip to London.

Sorry. Wanted to look at the Spurs game last night to watch Brighton to see what they’re about lately but couldn’t get to it. I did see the Connolly chance though which was funny. I really want to beat these. I just want that crack off City with the hope that a win opens it right up. It would hurt going into City with a poor result. A win and a clean Bill of health (for those that are left) so we can put everything into City and get right back in the frame whilst also halting their run. Didn't get to see all of it but from the bits I saw, it felt like that. Seemed no team felt like they could dominate whilst the other was happy to try keep the ball in there half and build an attack rather than, sometimes in games, just lump it out when they stop an attach because the pressure was too much. It felt like an end-to-end game at the very low end of the quality spectrum from the bits I saw.
