  1. Give Leo Naby's jersey
  2. Newcastle 5-4-1 / 3-4-3, similar to their set up vs Man City. Wilson in, Almiron out. Darlow Yedlin - Fernandez Schar Clark - Ritchie Murphy - Hayden Longstaff - Joelinton Wilson
  3. Also @Swipe - if the game tonight needs to be postponed, those players will need to quarantine, so can they* play the game against Chelsea in 5 days time ? *By "they" I mean Man City, not the players themselves.
  4. I was the same, I was hoping that he would cross the offside line as our players were coming out. Thats the best I can get it - but you can see its not close.
  5. I feel infinitely better now Wolves equalise on 86mins
  6. He won't sleep tonight. Ox was already getting ready so when the ball went for the corner he looked around to see if he was being hooked. For them to score must have really hurt him. I'm guessing its the kind of moment that will stick with him for a while. Putting the football to one side - he'll be hurting badly tonight, worse than us on a forum.
  7. I had a glance at their fixtures but I am looking at the league table We are not as consistent as last year but more consistent than any other team in the league. We're not inconsistent for too long so after this "set back" I expect a nice strong response. We're more consistent so far than anyone else in the league. We've played Chelsea and Everton away and picked 4 points and 2 injuries. We're not relying on anyone, we are looking to see if City can pick up at least 4 points from those 2 games.
  8. I'm still annoyed at our draw but looking for positives. Leeds and West Ham managed 1-1 draws at home to City. Everton need to treat this with maximum effort if they think their position in the table is justified. I'm feeling alot better knowing City are playing 2 teams away from home rather than the likes of Palace and Sheff United at home.
  9. I get that, WBA is a few points that we assume we can win given how good we are. In terms of City - https://www.ynwa.tv/topic/162138-footy-201819-1920-2021-etc/page/1175/ - I put a post in the General Football Forum about how City have struggled for 18 months to put down any kind of consistent run. They need to win away at Everton & Chelsea in their next 2 games for it to look ominous. Otherwise, it will look like the City we have seen in the last 18 months. Of course, I am not saying it won't happen, just that we need to still observe it.
  10. In fairness, what away game doesn't look tricky. City have Everton and Chelsea away in their next 2 games. In our last away game we won 0-7. Once we have Mane and Salah on the pitch, we can create dangerous moments - and even more so if the opposition want to attack with 4-5 players and risk the space behind if they lose the ball. I suppose I am saying that I would prefer our position than City's.
  11. I agree with @Hassony but I can see why others are still furious given its so soon after the game. - If you see Man City as the main challenger then they also recently drew at home to WBA. They have two aways to Everton/Chelsea and we are away to Newcastle/Southampton. We can hope for at least the same distance/margin after those 2 games - If you see Man Utd or Leicester as the main challenger then they recently drew, - If you see Everton as the main challenger, then its more likely that the whole league is completely inconsistent rather than them stringing together a run of 8-10 wins in a row. We've won the league, continue to lead the league and - in terms of injuries - the new injury to Matip is a pain but we have others coming back. I'm less pi$$ed off more relaxed than I would otherwise be with such a result - but so far, no one else has shown the consistency to punish us, and, we've not coughed up the league lead but just given other teams the interest that they are still within 1 game of us. I'd still fancy us if we gave other teams one game on us.
  12. West Brom with 18% possession and only 47% pass success rate.
  13. Same thoughts as everyone else - 45-60 will be different to 75-90. We get to clobber them in 45-60 for the 2nd goal. They hope to play for 75-90. Still, we are pretty good in 75-90 ourselves.
  14. In an ideal world, he waits to blow his whistle and then the question becomes; "Was there a foul in the build up to disallow it" But I don't blame him for blowing. If refs see a foul, they blow. Unfortunately in this case, it changed the dynamic as there is no possibility for the goal to stand, the question then becomes; "Is there a foul by the goalkeeper instead of on the goalkeeper". Given the whistle has blow, there is no longer a question of whether a foul has been committed at all. Foul on the keeper - Mee competes for the ball but at the point of contact between him and the keeper, its the keeper that has the height advantage with his arms to grab the ball. Does the impact interfere with Mesilier's arms and impact his ability to keep hold ? Foul by the keeper - the first moment of contact between the 2 players is Meslier's knee into Mee's back. An outfield example I can think of that is somewhat similar would be the case whereby the player in possession has the ball and the defender cant get near it. However, if the player in possession is "all arms" and hits the defender in the face then he commits a foul irrespective of whether the defender could get anywhere near the ball. With the goal disallowed and the game stopped, if I was asked to give the referee advice in his earpiece, my instinct would be to tell him that the first contact was the keeper's knee hitting Mee's back. In my opinion, this is a foul and the referee should also see that angle before deciding. If there are lessons to be taken away from these incidents, its the unorthodox manner in which keepers compete for the balls. Even the first penalty with Pope on Bamford was not the most elegant of challenges.
  15. City haven't strung anything consistent together for 18 months. Last season United when on a 14 game run without defeat (City's best was 5, worse than Watford's 6). Their best run of wins was 5 on the trot which were the last 5 games - Chelsea and Leicester won 6 and 8 on the trot, respectively. The thing is with them, they were the only team not "not win 2 games on the trot" - so they always won after they dropped a point(s). This season, City went 5 games unbeaten, then lost to Spurs and are now on 6 games unbeaten run (there's 5 draws in those unbeaten streaks). Because they turned in 2 proper seasons 2017/18 and 2018/19, we are still highly wary. And I am too. They are the #1 team I want to lose every weekend. They play Everton away and Chelsea away in the next 2. If they win them, they'll be 4 straight wins and 8 without defeat. It will start to look like they are breaking 18 months of inconsistency.
  16. I'd call it more of a standard break than a big break Or even a "well deserved"
  17. Thanks for the warning - its less predictable than the City/Newcastle game but thats about all it has going for it from what I have seen. There's a potential comedy moment of Sheffield United winning their 1st game that I am clinging to, but little else. Also probably has the 2 worst keepers in the league so there is a chance of anything happening IF it gets anywhere near the goal of course.
  18. 2-0 City, flicking over to Everton
  19. Main hope now is that City get lazy and don't convert to give Newcastle a shot at getting a lucky strike to level it up.
  20. Martin Tyler seems to be alluding every so often of a potential Chelsea comeback - not really sure what's fueling the source.
  21. Hopefully Rodgers doesn't let them forget that pasting from last Boxing Day and sends them out to correct it. Any reason given for Wan Bissaka missing out ?
  22. Premier League Years - Season 2019/20 is on Sky now
  23. "To be continued" I reckon
  24. They're on a strange run. The big games have seen them score 1 goal in 4 games against Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and City with them getting just 2 points. They then go behind in every away game but still manage to claw themselves back and win. He is there 2 years, or 1.5 years if you consider his permanent appointment. The interesting comparison is him and Mourinho. He replaced Mourinho in Dec-18 and Mourinho took over Spurs in Nov-19. I would still think Spurs are a greater threat based on their commitment their style and ability to get results so far away at United and home to City. But its another bar to measure Solskjaer when you see his predecessor's progress after 1 year when he has United 2 years.
