Deschamps won't leave Marseille. At what point, among fans, did it become the opinion that Pellegrini is a better coach than Rijkaard? Have people forgotten how good Barcelona were with him at the helm? He brought through Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol, Valdes etc. etc. and helped turn Samuel Eto'o into a world class striker after he couldn't get anywhere at Real Madrid. Yes, there was a decline after Ten Cate left and that it is pretty common knowledge that it's because Rijkaard lost the dressing room, but there were a lot of ego's at Barcelona at the time, and the lynch pin of the side was Ronaldinho who decided to turn into a fat waster. His story at Barcelona is, arguably, pretty similar to Rafa's here (lost Pako and declined etc. etc. - although we did have our best domestic season under him after that) and then lost the dressing room/failed to motivate the squad in his last season, causing a remarkable decline. Pretty sure I'd still take Rafa and he's still a fantastic coach, though.
