To be fair, the guy's not had a proper holiday in over 2 years. And he does have lumps kicked out of him. But as i've already said, it's going to stay that way. Even if he DOES get protection from referees, players will still try to deal with him the Big Kev way.
Lucas DID have attacking thrust. He was the one who was constantly getting in the box, it just never fell right for him. Gerrard tried to take everything on himself, hence playing like a bellend. And that's why I don't want him dictating the way the entire team plays. We don't look sharp, but that'll come in time.
If they know it's going to throw him out of his swing they'll do it every time. Just like any forward that we've ever done it to in the past. It's just the nature of the game.
Well that's what's going to happen, we're not going to have players sent off every time they clatter our forward, there's just no way. Normally he thrives on it but he's just gotten caught up in it more and more in the first three games. I genuinly don't know what to say about that performance. Aston Villa played s*** and we still managed to f*** it up. We didn't have any width, Johnson got marked out the game and it seems that when he plays that Kuyt has no f***ing clue where to play. Benayoun couldn't get into the game that much and Gerrard and Torres just couldn't click. I'm hoping this is just starting the season slowly. Aquilani is still a couple of months from fitness and we have no idea how he's going to play.
We started pretty brightly. Lucas OG was unfortunate, they all need to calm down and collect themsevles before the second half and do the job rather than worry about the referee. Attacking the kop with a bit of thunder in their bellies, come on!
Aye, I watched that game the other week. He looked pretty amazing in it. And I heard those rumours he's Arsenal bound. Hungary, man, they're bringing the 50's back.
Qoute from the LFCTV twitter feed "Just had a chat with Insua - Masch has been encouraging him about a possible international call-up. Nice lad." Bless.
I don't think he'll get a run of games, he'll be on the bench from now on you'd think with Krygiakos' imminent arrival. I don't think he'll be a 'first choice' player for a long long time, if ever.
He fared pretty well considering, but i'm glad we've got Kurgan coming in as I didn't feel confident with Ayala back there. Don't want him starting against Villa anyway, not against Carew and Agbonlahor.
Going back to yesterday, anyone think it's pretty odd/good that Purslow is the one to have come out and refuted the whole 'Rafa quitting' story? I bet they're 'best buds' http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5501471,00.html
I like that I got linked to some story were Merson was going on about how us signing Glen Johnson was the most bizarre transfer of the summer. F*ck off Merson. Although, I really fear for him when we play against teams with decent wingers. He got d*cked by Babel for England the other night. But then again, England do have a tendency of making good players look bad.
Lucas was again one of the better peformers in the team last night, but Gerrard was pulling all the strings. Seems like Gerrard drops a bit deeper, Kuyt pulls in behind Torres with Johnson almost as a right winger and Mascherano covering the vacant space at right back for a fair proportion of last night. Looked very fluid. Nobody had a bad game. But yeah, Lucas seems to be coming on leaps and bounds.
And that we don't have any money. Surely if there was any validity to it we'd enquire about a season-long loan? Seeing as how desperate Real are to get players off the books, or would have included him in the Alonso/Arbeloa deal.
On RAWK theyr'e saying that Alrdidge has been attributed to a qoute along the lines of "i've heard something but I don't want to say anything out of respect for the club" Don't think it adds anymore validity to it. Especially since Sammy Lee isn't allowed on the bench tonight, surely?
