So let's see who is in the Running:

Wenger..not a chance.

Fergie..not a chance.

Mourinho..a chance but the press have sorted him out and this will hurt his chances.

That leaves three choices I think.

Rafa..in with a shout as we've improved our League position. In the FA Cup final. And some residual effect of winning the CL last year.

Jol..in with a shout as he's from a London team. and Spurs may get 4th.

Jewell... I think in with a real shout. Wigan were everyones favorites to go down. Has done well keeping Wigan in the top half of the table and with an outside shot at Europe. Fading albeit..

So either Rafa or Jewell then?

Won't be Rafa.....

It'll have to be the Special One. one last hurrah before he gets the sack

If they're going for the Overachievement by Club Outside The Big Four award (AKA the George Burley option) then I'd say Pardew's got a better shout than Jewell.

Yeah, thats the LMA Award, I was talking about the Premiership Manager of the Year. Since Burley winning it in 2001, the latter has gone with league winners every year.

LMA is probably more impartial actually, might consider budget, other competitions.

Isn't he a miserable c***?

:D Exactly.

Whats your sig about?

if west ham finish above wigan then surely pardew's a better bet than jewell?

You'd think so, wouldn't you? Especially as West Ham finished considerably lower than Wigan last season and (despite historicallly being a bigger club) didn't have anything approaching Whelan's cash to spend.

But Pardew's a Londoner.

west ham have spent a fair old amount since they came up to the top flight mind, certainly more than wigan have.

just think pardew's done a really good job and created a really useful team there.

They've spent a bit, but hardly a fortune. They're bloody skint.

Starting from a lower position that Wigan at the end of last season they've got to the same level in the league and made a cup final too.

He'd done at least as good a job as Jewell, probably better in my opinion. Wigan's just been made of a fuss over because it's a novelty having them at that level.

Jewell's done excellently too, but I think Pardew shades it.

£7m on Ashton alone though wasn't it?

£7.25m on ashton and £4m (bargain) on gabbidon. plus whatever they paid for konchesky and benayoun.

think Hughes shoukld be in with a shout as well. Don't think anyone had them down as CL contenders.

I'm off me head, so I'm probably wrong, but didn't Jewell take Wigan to the League Cup Final?

Personally, I'd give it to Shearer. Let him win something with Newcastle and we won't have to listen to him being bitter on telly for the next 30 years.
