remember a match between germany and portugal when rui costa was sent off as he was walking to be subtituted for time wasting, and the subtitution never took place

Why did he get that yellow again? Too slow?

Yep.

Happens every game like but I was just wondering what would have happened with the sub.

dawdling going off.  another area of stunning inconsistency amongst referees.

It was f***ing bizarre, that slow walk off happens in near enough every game in every League in the country and yet 99.9% wont get booked for it. When Battenberg is reffing any game not involving us he seems outstanding, put him in one of our games and he turns utter s***. Thats not being biased as he's made f*** ups for other teams aswell ie Bolton should of had a penno against us, cant stand the c***.

The question is, was he walking off slowly out of desent/dismay due to him being substituted, or was he walking off slowly to kill time ?.

The sub would be cancelled and the red card would assume priority you would think. Can't you also be sent off after the game too?

you can even be sent off as a subtitute as cannigia found out in the last world cup

Yes you can, obviously it doesn't affect the game that you have just participated in, but you will certainly be banned for the next game(s).

What, even if you've already been substituted off ?.

A substitution is only complete when the player coming off leaves the field, and the player coming on enters the field.

Also, there's no reason for him to be given a yellow card because on substitutions most referees stop their watches anyway so no time is wasted.

you can be s/o any time. In the dressing room before a game, after a game, before or after being subbed etc

What even in the feckin showers ?, and what for ....tackling the soap ?.....(although knowing Momo ...he probably would).

If there are any refs on here, answer me this..

Burton keeper kicks ball through to their striker who is barged off the ball by a defender who has no intention of going for the ball but is trying to let the ball run through to Howard. No foul.

Burton keeper kicks ball their forward who turns the defender to run after the ball and it's a foul.

The inconsistencies in refereeing decisions infuriate me.

That was a ridiculous booking - he was hardly crawling off the pitch

Exactly what I thought. Seemed to be fine to me but it obviously wasn't good enough for the ref that he'd been running all over the place for 80mins, or however long. It wasn't like he turned around and walked across to the other side of the pitch first ..

Liverpool's was a penalty, Luton's wasn't. However it was only after seeing the umpteenth replay in slow motion that it became clear that any foul by Carson was outside the box. At the time I thought it was a penalty and expected Carson to be sent off.

If tv never showed replays then referees wouldn't get half of the stick they get.

I thought ours wasn't a pen. And actually the Luton forward trod on Carson's ankle so it wasn't even a free kick. But I only noticed that stood abuot three inches from the telly in the pub, and after about 12 Vodka and Cokes.

But you're right. endless replays leave most decisions in doubt.

Ours was a deffo pen, there was contact by the defender on Gerrard causing him to fall. It doesn't matter if the ball was in playing distance or not, Gerrard was fouled.
