This is the same Fernandes who one through a pissy fit on the pitch at Anfield and demanded to be substituted because we were battering them whilst he waved his arms at his teammates?

Yes he's been good but 'responsibility' is not something that Fernandes screams. He's very much a luxury player for United and I think a fair amount of their problems in recent seasons can be traced to his antics.

Yes. Even someone that's done that has taken far more responsibility than Wirtz.

Well, one’s a 31yr old captain of Man U with 300+ appearances under his belt and the other is a 22yr old in his first PL season in a team that’s malfunctioning all over the shop - 

I think Witz has been underwhelming considering the hype he came here with but I dunno about ‘responsibility’ being a major failing of his this season.

Perhaps I'm being overly optimistic, but the rush to big up Utd, Carrick and Fernandes has all the hallmarks of previous false dawns. Brentford should have been over the horizon by half time yesterday.

Carrick as the new Solskjaer is such an obvious comparison I'm surprised (not) that the Utd fanboys aren't more cautious about appointing him full time (tbf Scholes and some others have been a bit Emperors New Clothes about him recently).
