Well we missed out on the top 2 last night after a 1-1 draw with Charnock Richard who get auto promotion instead of us. Excellent game, lots of talking points, debatable decisions, but in the end we ran out of steam against an incredibly fit and strong opponent. From 1-11 they were all built like rugby players.

Anyway good news was we broke our attendance record again, 723 last night.

Final league fixture this weekend away to Bacup Borough, we need a win to maintain our current 4th place to ensure a home tie in the playoffs.

Played our final league game yesterday,a 2-1 win away at Bacup so we finish 4th and play 5th place Whitchurch at home next Saturday.

Tomorrow is the first of 2 cup finals we've reached in our 1st season!

Sandbach who do finished 6th are the opponents so it'll be a tight game. We're taking an amazing 900 fans to Runcorn for the game,I'll probably post the outcome on Tuesday as the fans' party is scheduled straight after.

Cheers mate, we won 1 nil!

A cup in our first season and it feels great.

A tight game v Sandbach, but we were the better side, they never really troubled us.

Got a sore head right now as the after match party went on into the night.

I can't post links but anyone interested should look on YouTube/Twitter for some great videos at the game, you couldn't but be Impressed with the excitement of it all.

Another 1 nil win today in the play off semi-final against Whitchurch. Tight game but we kicked on second half and scored on the hour. Soon after we had a penalty saved otherwise we'd have had a comfortable last 15. As it was they only troubled us with a late penalty box scramble which came to nothing.

The tie was one legged so we join Litherland REMYCA in the final at Litherland sports park next Saturday. Should be a very tight local derby.

away for the final because of finishing 1 place & 1 point behind.

Some mental stats in that league - top 4 scored 107 or more in 42 games, 9 of the 22 scored 90 or more and the bottom 2 conceded 132 & 145.

Yeah the football played by all teams is attacking and to be honest the general standard of goalkeeping is quite poor. Leads to those stats you've quoted.

Well done the Purps!

I've played centre half against Kev Towey who's scored bucketloads for Widnes - 40 goals and 17 assists in 48 games this season. He's a divvy though.

Kept him fairly quiet myself...;) he is good, quick and strong with a nasty streak. We beat them 1-0 in one game and lost 3-2 in the other one. Another of the Widnes players played for us Burnsy - he won the youth cup with Liverpool (same group as Spearing) he's some player and took the p*ss at our standard but still never made it.

Bet it's hard to believe some of the lads in that league never made it as pro's - with a lot of them it's more commitment and professionalism than talent.

Big promotion party indeed on Saturday. 3 nil win away in a derby (Litherland) to secure promotion in our first season of existence.

REMYCA are a very good team and after a tight first half we were 1 up within a minute of the restart then blew them away by scoring 2 more, in all we scored 3 in 7 minutes.

The 3rd goal was brilliant, a 40 yarder catching the keeper off his line.

Cue mass celebrations from the vast majority of a record 1300+ crowd. Sadly a pitch invasion at the final whistle left a steward with a broken arm and some minor injuries, hopefully he's not out of action for too long.

If anyone wants to see some truly brilliant videos look in YouTube under City Of Liverpool FC or an account in the name of Paul Manning, our chairman.

Look out especially for the sprinter and the cyclist.

Well we played another final last night, The Macron Cup final against Barnoldswick at Fleetwood.

After taking an early lead and more than matching the team from 1 division above we had a player sent off after 40 mins.

The pattern was set for a defensive posture from the purples, while still threatening on the break. This was going well until the 82nd minute when finally Barnoldswick pierced our defence to take the game to extra time.

30 more minutes failed to separate the teams even though the purples had another player sent off and we played the last 5 mins with 9 men.

Drama at the end of the evening in the form of a shootout which we won 3-2 after both keepers made saves.

So 10 months after first kicking a ball as City of Liverpool FC, we have won 2 knockout cups, and secured a promotion to the North West Counties Premier Division. This supporter-owned club is breaking records and making their hundreds of fans happy.
