Hughton sacked?

Recommended Posts

I wouldn't post it if I didn't believe it to be true but absolutely no worries people treating it as hearsay.

Nelson Mandela named Hughton as one of the figures in sport who had done most to fight against apartheid in the 80s. The man is the embodiment of class and yet we hear that there was a massive row after the 5-1 derby because Ashley/Llambias accused Hughton of 'milking' the result with the crowd afterwards.

The rumours of his impending sacking have been swirling since pre-season. They wanted him out and it was going to be nothing to do with results.

Martin Lipton: "He just didn't look like a manager. He's a number 2, he just didn't come across as a manager and that's the problem"

Same could've been said about Paisley in 74/75 and we all know what a diastrous manager he turned out to be.

Crazy, he gets a premiership job because they go to the same casino. Insane.

Just read that. f***ing disgraceful.

Ashley is a massive t***.

Pardew in next 24 hours, Beeb say. He was negotiating with them 10 days ago.

There'll be nobody there soon enough, there'll be protests, death threats and allsorts, he'll be looking to sell the club again asap.

Sacked by West Ham and Southampton and jumped from Charlton after taking them down – yeah he is a much bigger name with more experience!!!

Geordies are absolutely furious. With good reason. I laugh at clubs making bad football decisions but this is just off-pitch madness. Bit like what we were in 3 months ago.

I was talking to Jarg Armani about this in real life at the match on Monday

I was saying that in some ways i admired that they weren't afraid to make a bold, ambitious decision in sacking a manager that had done well but that they ddn't think was now the best man to take them where they wanted to go

The problem is though, is that they are Newcastle, so you just knew they were going to make a complete hash of it

And they did

Yeah, exactly. If they'd have appointed Jol, Mr Villas Boas, Bielsa or whomever you thought could take a big step forward, then fair enough (though surely you'd do that last summer?). But this is just madness and smacks of some very dodgy dealings.
