For those that dont know, Ray is a crazy geordie comentator who normally does the spanish games here in the states..

anyway he was comentating on our game against Benfica...and loved lucas and kuyt from the 1st minute..

 

various quotes "why is Aquilani not playing? well its because lucas has been outstanding this season" "kuyt has been one of liverpools greatest signings of the past 10 years"

 

Now whether you agree with those or not...by the end of the game both players were outstanding, possibly their best performances of the season.

 

So Ray you might be a crazy bugger.......maybe next time you comentate on us, tell us that Babel is a genius and the next messi and N`gog is the new Eto`o

He may have overstated the position but, in fairness, Lucas has been easily one of our best players this season and Kuyt is very much a big game player who season in, season out scores plenty of goals from a wide position and makes plenty of assists. Last season he scored as many league goals as Rooney and actually made more assists. This season he's yet again been scoring when it matters, providing assists and never giving less than 100%.

 

He has indeed been a top, top signing. Unfortunately a lot of nutters on here always want to see him left out for inexplicable reasons, usually for players who usually fail to offer us anything tangible

Thought Hudson was fairly restrained (by his standards) in terms of the stuff he said, but it was interesting how gushing he was of Lucas and Kuyt (although I'd argue that despite a few excellent performances in key games, generally Kuyt has been pretty poor this season).

He's different from the rest. Sometimes he annoys the hell out of me, other times he makes me chuckle. Very passionate about the game, sometimes tries too hard to be wacky, but un-like most co-commentators, he doesn't seem to have an agenda (i.e. doesn't bother trot out stuff about Rafa rotating too much, or zonal marking etc...) which I respect him for

Good God he's awful, but he's made to sound better than the idiot Yank that does it with him.

 

There are far too many lines from the Yank to list them all, but my favourite was when Torres scored his second and they were discussing who played the through ball (evidently they couldn't tell after watching 3 replays). He said "The fact that it was played with the left foot leads me to believe it was Lucas rather than Gerrard."
