Only realistic route into Europe?

we're currently on course for 7th in the League

 

1 Man Utd 31 47 69

2 Arsenal 31 40 67

3 Chelsea 30 42 65

4 Tottenham 30 26 55

5 Man City 29 18 53

6 Liverpool 31 18 51

7 Aston Villa 29 17 50

 

 

We're way behind Spurs who have a game in hamd, behind City who have 2 in hand & have played 2 more than Villa who're only a point behind

Thanks for putting table up. It makes my weekend so much better to be reminded of that.

 

I'd rather miss out on Europe than go into the Europa. Could throw our entire energy into the league campaign instead of turning up in the middle of Eastern Europe at 4 on a Thursday afternoon.

its not inconceivable we could finish as low as 9th. Birmingham will be 4 behind if they win their game in hand, and we have to go there yet

 

we have managed 3 goals in our last 9 away league games, thats half a season worth of away games. we have got to go to teams who are fighting for their lives, and with nothing to play for, i can see us faltering even further

Winning the Europa Trophy would a good consolation for a very difficult season. It would also allow the manager to leave the club on a positive note with some credibility intact. I dont believe those who are happy for us to remain out of european competition altogether really appreciate just how difficult it would make any attempt to bring in any player of quality in the summer, or our longer term standing in future european competitions. Its a trophy we should now prioritise for several reasons. Fourth place in the league is no longer within our control and realistically now depends on all of our three rivals screwing up whilst we find form that has been missing all season so far

what a miserable f***ing thread.

 

rather be out of Europe than play in the Europa league??

 

we should be looking to play in europe as that is the only way we are going to attract decent players to consider coming to Liverpool.

 

if we don't make the CL, and have no investment, we are in enough trouble. no Euro footy whatsoever turns into a forgotten team unless there is some massive upturn in our play.

 

as pissed off as I am with our current play, I still want us in Europe next season, even if it means playing on Sundays.

On a positive note, only six weeks to go!!

I just want this season to end. The Mancs will get 19 and win in Madrid. We will end up 7th and will not get passed either of Valencia or Athletico even if we manage to beat Benfica which I dont think we will.

My day was utterly s**** from the moment we lost today and even plenty of beer has not dulled the pain.

Tell me about it. Not even the strangest urinal I or my mates have ever pissed in that caused much amusement could not dull the pain.
