There used to be points deductions for that sort of thing

It's ok though because he as a fantastic squad of 28 players to choose from. It really doensn't matter wich ones he chooses ...... but ...... Rooney and Ronaldo don't play

He has a CL final after this meaningless game. I'd do the same if i were him.

Why does everything that Ferguson does need to be made into an issue? Disrespect to Boro, Sunderland and Newcastle? Rafa deserves to be reprimanded for fielding a poor side to Colin's contempt as well. :)

If they get beat and have a one point deduction I'll consider the matter closed.

so let me get this straight...a team playing in the Champions League is fielding an understrength side against a team that they should be able to beat anyway in the premier league.

Thats f***ing mental...thats never been seen before even.

Its madness.

So why was there f***ing outrage when Rafa did it in 2005 ?

Its a non story as far as I'm concerned, most managers would do the same, plus he is hardly likely to do Alan Shearer any favours is he? I hope Hull win and send Newcastle down because it would be funny seeing all the geordies crying and yet another 'saviour' failing there.

define outrage?

do you mean a few articles saying its a disgrace with probably the same amount saying "fair enough".

There were a number of people who called into question his attitude to the integrity of the league after he played a second string against palace and fulham.

yep the same numbers who have questioned fergie throughout the years(and long before benitez was your manager) when he has fielded understrength teams in the league cup, FA cup and league.

To try and make out its only benitez who ever gets questioned on this sort of thing is f***ing ridiculous.

and yet even then youd still get a number of journos saying fair enough...the idea its some kind of uniform outrage and only benitez suffers...good lord.

To be fair Colin had a go at Ferguson too for fielding a weakened team when they got relegated.

Hang on, he fielded the weakened team himself.

Who is doing that, I'm just linking an article where Ferguson clearly states he will be playing a weakened team in a game that will mean relegation for one of Hull's rivals if Hull get a point.

It's a real shame that Blackburn aren't in danger of relegation. would be interesting to see Fat Sam's reaction had they been relegated because his chum played a reserve team vs Hull.

Rafa doesn't make pious statements about other managers' behaviour that try to make himself sound like St Peter himself.

Still, you're probably just as used to the hypocrisy of the red-faced Scottish c*ntbucket as we are.
