I see he has bought back into Redrow Homes. A financial article I read today reckons he is still worth some £400 million after the price fallout. Bearing in mind we have two Yanks owning us who are in debt up to their ears in this country, would he have been a better bet after all? There are people on this site who will know him better than I. What's the opinion now?

All his money was in construction of housing. I'd be surprised if he was still worth £400m. Where's the article, wouldn't mind reading that.

I read it earlier today in either the Daily Express or the Mail. Quite a big piece, I recall.

Didn't say they were, but people on here were painting Morgan as the devil incarnate when he was after buying us. He's a successful business man and knows how to run organisations, as he appears to be proving at Wolves..

You can say all business people who invest in football clubs are successful and know how to run organisations. Hicks and Gillet had amassed a fortune on paper. Its not a qualification in and of itself, is it ?

wolves are comparable to liverpool in precisely no way whatsoever.

He's not a fan, he has no 'tie' to them, therefore he can be objective and make the right decisions off the pitch and lets the manager do that on the pitch. There is not a f***ing prayer that he would have done that here, plus the money he invests in Wolves makes a significant difference at that level.

BTW I am not disagreeing with you in the slightest, just a relevant post to quote.

that's a ridiculous statement - you have absolutely no idea about that.

FWIW, I never thought he had the capital to take over LFC. But he would have been better than the current owners.

I work for the company involved and have done for 18 years, and over those years have had plenty of dealings with him.

He is worth £440 million and has over the last few days increased his shares and pc in the company to 26.46% with holdings for a total of 29.9%

we were given a company response to this yesterday.

He is a lifelong LFC fan as we all know and yes he is chairman of Wolves.(so why Wolves we can all guess)

And i think the option on him owning the club has over the years has been fruitful to say the least.

Thats not the case he has alot of other business many in Leisure and hotels. However yes he started his initial business in housing.

He founded Redrow in 1974 before floating it in 1994 then a few years later left the company with only 5% share. over the years he has slowly added his capital and yesterday it totalled 26.46%

One very astute business man.Hence £440million

She got up at the AGM a few years back and made a show of herself

At the AGM, his wife had claimed chairman David Moores and the club's directors would prefer to do a deal with "the devil himself" rather than her husband.

Hmm...

And in another blast from the past...

Parry played down the Morgan deal at last month's annual general meeting. He claimed that the club had to consider a "new and exciting" offer from the United States "that could transform the club".
