Ryan Babel - Ballwinner

[richwilks]

Ryan Babel is apparently the 2nd least likely player to try and tackle in the premiership according to Opta, bizarrely being level on tackles attempted with a defender!

You may criticize Ryan for a lot of things, hardly a great season by him so far. But I think work rate when it comes to defending is more than good enough for me, don't want him to be another Mascherano. You can win a ball without tackling mind.

[Hieronymus Bosch]

Because he loses the ball so often and feels compelled to retrieve it?

Not surprising since he's an attacker (Ronaldo is there too), but Babel is definitely a bottler.

Always jumps out of tackles and watches the opposition player move off with the ball.

Very annoying.

Think he'll be gone in the summer.

Think he'll be gone in the summer.

Aye.

Think he'll get more time on the pitch as Keane has gone, but I do get the feeling Rafa's made his mind up.

Rightly so as well. He's been poor this season and is as lazy a player as I have seen at Liverpool for a long while. Really not a Rafa type player.

Perhaps someone should explain to him that Torres and Gerrard are two of the best players in the world not only because of their ability but because of their determination, effort and willingness to work hard as part of a team.

Has there ever been a more meaningless set of stats?

That's Opta for you.

I'd love to have seen this at the end of any season harry kewell played for us.

that miss at pompey was something special

[Cam]

Where the feck is Berbatov on that list?

Yes, wasn't it? I will certainly remember that one for good time to come.

I think he saw that the flag had gone up so missed it on purpose to spare the travelling reds the agony of celebrating a goal only to have our hopes and dreams crushed by the flag

It was possibly the most considerate miss ever

[Jim Price]

Surely a tackles per minute column is crucial - Ronaldo would walk it.

What about players who put in the most half arsed tackles that have no chance of actually winning the ball, but will result in yellow cards? A well merited accolade for Lucas...
