Is he as good as reports suggest?

What is his best position?

Hopefully he might save us a few million in the market in the next few years.

It was so refreshing to see Insua prove that he has what it takes this season - hopefully Pacheco will follow suit in the not too distant future.

Yes, Striker...

Great talent, he's been moved back to CM recently (I assume in an effort to toughen him up) and he's been fantastic. His biggest problem is his size, but he seems to have bulked up a bit in the last few months. I hope he gets a run in the squad next season because he could be something special, our Zola.

I expect him to edge nearer the first team squad this season to be honest.

I believe that Nemeth was sent out to Blackpool on a 1 month loan purely to get him ready for first team football as Keane was being moved on. As that didn't work out and Nemeth is out for 6 weeks it may meant that Pacheco gets nearer the squad instead.

He is a top quality player, he's young and needs to toughen up a bit but he's an extremely clever football, a cracking finisher and has got the ability to create chances from nothing. Big hopes for Pacheco.

Can't see Rafa throwing a 5'6 18 year old into a title battle.

I wouldn't expect him to start but I wouldn't be surprised to see him on the bench and getting the odd 5-10 minutes.

Really talented kid - I see his best position as playing in the hole off the striker and linking midfield and attack. I'd say one eye catching aspect of his game when I've seen the lad play is his ability to pick a killer pass.

It really is rare you find a player who can pick a through ball from pitch level that you dont even see from up in the stands or watching on television, by anticipating a player's run and playing the ball sometimes without looking.

I think he has he ability to make it; as others have said the big thing for him is dealing with the physical strain of our league.

In England he might have to hold off a challenge to give himself that bit of time and space to pick the killer ball, and he'll have to learn to cope with 90 minutes of non stop power football which he has to keep up with to make an impact.

I think his game could potentially work perfectly with Torres which is one of the reasons he could have a real future here. Him and Nemeth are the two kis with star potential in the reserves.

I think he is better than Nemeth IMO, I think Nemeth has the ability to be a decent squad player for us, Pacheco looks different class, His eye for a pass is fantastic for someone so young, just surprised that he hasn't scored more goals for the reserves as i thought he had a great scoring record for Barca

Yeah, think he's got a brighter future than Nemeth. He looks the ideal foil for Torres, someone who can really see a pass but also has the ability to play it. Could be a really important player for us in 2 years.

I know Zola wasn't 18, but he was/is, according to Wiki 5' 5 1/2"

Are you saying "If you're good enough, you're tall enough"?

why not? if they are good enough they are old enough.. Messi made his debut playing under pressure

Ask Rafa. Either way, he wont use him this season.

Agree give him a chance if only from the bench - looks a much better prospect that Ngoals or Babel

He reminds me alot of Fabregas. Great technical ability and has great vision. It's only a matter of time before he breaks through. He will save us alot of money in the market.

He has very good technigue and plays some delightful short passes and flicks, but he needs to improve his speed of thought. He gets into some great positions and then seems to forget what he intended to do. He'll play a one-two and then look to play another in a congested penalty area, or he'll slip past a defender and then let them get back at him. No doubt part of the problem is that some of his teammates just aren't on the same wave-length, but he also needs to sharpen up when he gets into the area. It's a slow but steady process of improvement this season.

how did you come to that conclusion about a player who has not played 1 senior competitive game.. do you specialise in being ridiculous

I don't think its that hard to see that he is a much better prospect than ngog to be honest

I think you play him alongside the likes of Torres and Gerrard and he will improve dramatically and will be playing with far greater technical players than he is currently.

Another season in the reserves will kill him as a player. He needs to make the move to the first team squad within 12 months.

I agree

you can see how playing with ngog and nemeth made it easier for him than when he was playing with browyr, I don't think he will gain anything from another season in the reserves my self

Nemeth and Pacheco are different types of players, don't compare them.

I'd echo the thoughts about Pacheco having a fantastic future, but then I'd say that Nemeth looks a superb prospect himself - and is much closer to making the breakthrough than Pacheco because of a few things. namely top flight experience (he'd played first team football for MTK Hungaria before he came here), he's older, and he's more physically developed.

What I noticed after Keane was sold, was that Rafa mentioned his name first out of the young lads when talking about back ups and potential replacements from within.

I said in an earlier post that I believe Nemeth was sent to Blackpool to boost his first team experience for a month and then to come back and be involved in the first team. unfortunately his injury put an end to that.

I honestly don't think Pacheco is that far away. Technically he is superb, he will clearly struggle with the physical side initially but he has bulked up a lot in the last 6 months or so.

I don't think Nemeth came back from his injury particularly well earlier this season and the Blackpool move could have been a real positive so that injury was a big shame.

how would these players fit in with the first team in a 4231 formation ?
