Their positioning, i.e. all seated together at exactly the spot where the substitutions are made, guaranteeing numerous full camera shots of the manc shirts and turbans to a world wide audience.

Is this the most cynical marketing ploy ever seen at a football match or merely down to luck of the ticketing draw? Are the mancs sending out a message to the emerging economies that their fan base is the entire world or am I being a cynical c*nt because it's the mancs?

Won't sit well with Muslim fans of Man U. They will lose more muslim fans than they gain Sikh's IMO.

We should go for the Scientologist fanbase.

I don't understand this thread.

murphs a racist and doesnt like seeing "darkies" at football*...he can dress it up all he wants, thats what it boils down to.

Kids in the third world gathering round the village tv set to see Sikh's in the crowd at Old Trafford. David Gill is a genius for thinking of it.

How the feck could they organise that?

"Okay, so you'd like four tickets at home to Newcastle?"

"Yes"

"Where would you like to sit"

"Just behind the goal"

"Can I ask what religion you pratcice and if you have identifying symbols or clothing"

"Yes, funny you should ask - I'm a sikh and wear a turban"

"Would you mind if I placed you on hold for a sec..... I've just spoken to my manager and it looks like we can offer you tickets to sit right by the subs. Interested?"

Sikhs are called Singh, so far as I know all Mohammed's are muslim, you'd certainly get a clue about some religions the name on the application but that wasn't what I was on about. It crossed my mind these lads have held ST's for ages and some smartarrse in their PR department thought it might be an idea to use them by moving them and seating them in a prominent positiion. I may be wrong that's why i asked you lot what you thought.

Oh, and f*ck off Ostrich man.

Even if that mad conspiracy were actually true, how does having a few Sikhs sitting together show that the Manc fanbase is "the entire world"? They're probably all from fecking Salford.

If mancs legally changed their name to singh, they'd all get to sit behind the dugout?

I've heard of Singh-ing sections, but this is ridiculous.

Highly likely they don't live in The Punjab. The mancs fan base is the whole world and the Indian subcontinent along with the far east is their biggest target audience. It's a bit like when we played Fulham who had a japanese player, a coach load of the Nokomoto (or whatever his name was) fan club turned up. Fulham created a connection, United have done it with Park, I'm just thinking along those lines that's all. They're bound to be guilty, they are after all is said and done, Mancs.
