Every game he's looking more and more like Bobby Moore (pardon the illiteration). I thought he was f***ing brilliant tonight, he reads the game so well and that last ditched tackle, even though the Milan fella was offside, was immense. I think he'll be good for at least one more season, a modern day legend for the club.

He was also our most dangerous forward.

He's been our best defender this season. Not bad for someone that was written off at the beginning of the season.

Stay one more season, he will have a complete trophy haul!!

1x Premiership

2x CL

2x FA

You've got to love Sami. Brilliant on the pitch and always says the right things off it. A class act

"My priority would be to stay at Liverpool, but it's not only up to me," Hyypia told The Mirror.

"I haven't got any offers yet from here or any other clubs, so I'm just trying to focus on the matches.

"I'm enjoying playing. I've played more games than I maybe thought I would this season because of all the injuries.

"The only thing I can do is try to play well, and when it's time to sit down see what happens.

"It would be very nice to get to 10 years at the club but I'm just concentrating on playing well."

Hyypia says he is happy to fight for his place in the team with Jamie Carragher, Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel all battling for a spot in the heart of Liverpool's defence.

"Whether I stay wouldn't depend on how many games I play. I'm not like that. I'm not interested in someone promising me anything," added Hyypia.

"If we have four centre-backs, then everyone fights for their place and performances should determine who plays.

"If I keep playing well then it'll be very difficult for the manager to change things"

Hyypia is looking to win a new contract as you all well know but the thing that I love about him is the following :

"Whether I stay wouldn't depend on how many games I play. I'm not like that. I'm not interested in someone promising me anything," added Hyypia.

No demands being made, the man just wants to stay and will battle for a place in the first team. Most of us have to admit that we had Sami written off as a top performer however he has really opened my eyes yet again as to how good he still is. One of my favourite all time liverpool players.

give this man a contract!

That's not illiteration by the way, thats just rhyming.

'Dull drums drumming in the hills half heard' - thats illiteration.

Guilty as charged, Agger got injured and he was shocking for the first couple of games and I wanted him sold in January and replaced. Now he's found his feet he looks as good as ever. Top top season from the big man.

It's a no-brainer. He has to stay. He's proved this season he can still cut it, and his experience and professionalism will brush off on the younger players. Love the guy - what a signing!!

Can't stand that term.

Agree with the sentiment though.

Sami has been brilliant the past couple of months

I am so pleased he has proved me wrong

Sami has been brilliant since we signed him, not only in the recent months.

Thank you sean. I spent the last 10 minutes exactly what he meant by 'illiteration'.

Isn't there a special word for alliteration that starts with r?

Coming on this forum nowadays really does improve your grammar, especially if you are an illiterate c*** like me, its better than school!
