floyd the barber Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 time for Rafa to go..hes lost the players that much is obvious..it has already been planned for him to go at the end of the season.....then its a pathetic decision he should go right now.. i love the guy...but right now him staying is doing us no favours.. today was a disgrace....complete and utter disgrace....fair player to barnsley though you deserved it
Cam Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If G&H really plan on staying - and that's far from certain - then they will surely be sacking Rafa in the summer. That's their right, whether we back them or Rafa the owners must do what they feel is right. So why keep him now - isn't he just a lame duck until May? It's not a case of "do you have faith he'll turn it round", "remember Istanbul!", "are you pro-G&H?" or even "he should stay next season". If he's going to be gone in the summer are we better off without him now? I know the counter-argument of not wanting to rock the boat midseason but aren't we just stagnating and limping out the season?
anfieldgaz Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Totally agree, but we know ppl on here will still have the Rafa tinted glasses on,and blame everything or everyone but him.propably G+H
Caligula Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If just one muppet comes on here and blames the board for that shambles, I swear I'll eat my face! Benitez is solely to blame for what has become of this team. He hasn't just lost the players, he's lost the plot too. God I pray this idiot is removed before he causes any more damage.
Guest Ant Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Rafa is the lesser of the two evils. But if we are stuck with the Yanks in the summer, it's their duty to act.
floyd the barber Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 i see no point in keeping him if its already been decided (which i think its obvious that it already has) Cracks started when the Pako situation came to a head...before then we were doing pretty good.......like Houllier before, Rafa peaked with the champs league win and ahsnnt been able to build on it....houllier peaked with the treble and then finished 2nd...but couldnt take that next step.. time for a new man....and id like Martin O`neill or..dare i say it....Sven Rafa will go down as a legend for what he has done.....id rather he didnt tarnish this achievement any further..
MFletcher Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I've said this since the entire fiasco started. I want Rafa to stay, be handed a new contract etc. etc. However, if it is quite clear within the corridors of Anfield that he is gone in the summer, then he should have went as soon as they made that decision.
Widnesian Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Taking Babel off, who I thought looked to be our most threatening player, was a somewhat bizarre decision.
madaboutlfc Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I hope our so called c*** of fans who want Benitez out f***ing suffer for the rest of their lives.. these a*****s do not deserve success.. you are no better that f***en evertonians
madaboutlfc Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If it wasnt for Hicks & Gillett we wouldnt be in this f***ing mess Blame them not Rafa Some people just dont get it
floyd the barber Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 the players seem scared s***less on the pitch with rafa constantly barking orders.....babel has flair and looked good at times...i dunno it comes down to coaching and management at the end of the day and rafa has proved that in europe hes exceptional.....bk in england he still doesnt have a clue... So what if Rafa ends up winning the champs league?!?!? a case for us having 2 managers, someone to handle to english league and cups.......rafa for the champs league..
Bootle Buck Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 (edited) This has to stop NOW! We are playing piss poor football week after week with a bunch of players who look barely able to do the basics. I don't know what happens from one gme to another in training but it doesn't show on the pitch. Rafa looks like he has no idea how to stop this slide and the players seem completely lost. We potentially have three players worthy of getting into the starting XI of the top three teams the rest look like journeymen. We look so clumsy and plod through every game missing chances galore. Too many players are comfortable in knowing they will get a game despite how poor they played. We need to get Mourinho or another top manager in place now. A change of management and attitude could just turn this rut around.I'm sure Rafa will say the same things in his post match comments. We created chances, we had nore possession and their keeper was outstanding but in reality we were piss poor once again. Edited February 16, 2008 by Bootle Buck

I've though for a good few months now he should go, but if we lose to Inter (quite likely), then there are no trophies to play for, 4th place is the only thing going for us, and we should get someone in to galvanise the team for that 4th place push.

Just one question...............why???? why give him an extension? he doesnt deserve it on this season and our current plight.
fyds Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 That team was good enough to hammer Barnsley, had enough CLEAR chances to do so but didn't finish the job. I don't see how that is Rafa's fault that Kuyt screwed several chances, as did Crouch, Benayoun and their keeper had a blinder. Still, let's light the torches and storm the castle eh?
Guest Ant Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 I hope our so called c*** of fans who want Benitez out f***ing suffer for the rest of their lives.. these a*****s do not deserve success.. you are no better that f***en evertonians If it wasnt for Hicks & Gillett we wouldnt be in this f***ing mess Blame them not Rafa Some people just dont get it I don't think I can answer that question, without asking you in what way where Hicks and Gillett responsible for today, the Havant game + (Insert s*** game here). I hate the b******s as much as anyone else but Benitez is doing himself no favors. Some people just don't get it indeed.
ZZZZ Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 Most worryingly though is the players have given up. Bar a few today they just are not at the races. Riise letting that corss in, Alonso letting that guy walk around him. For FFS show a bit of passion
floyd the barber Posted February 16, 2008 Author Posted February 16, 2008 If it wasnt for Hicks & Gillett we wouldnt be in this f***ing mess Blame them not Rafa Some people just dont get it but we were like this before HandG arrived...no? We have been shocking in the league since rafa has arrived...and also have seen failiures in the cup..remember traores own goal.. nah....c`mon yes of course its made a mess of the whole situation and maybe without the mess of GandH,...we might have seen us improve this season....but it is what it is....and Rafa needs to step down now
Billy Talbot Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If it wasnt for Hicks & Gillett we wouldnt be in this f***ing mess Blame them not Rafa Some people just dont get it Word. Although Rafa needs to start getting the best out of his squad regardless. If this is the best he can do under these conditions - he's got no chance.

The so called fans who are backing the fool are the ones who should suffer. We will continue to go backwardsas long as Benitez stays. He is not good enough to run this club. We need new ideas and less excuses.
anfieldgaz Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 If it wasnt for Hicks & Gillett we wouldnt be in this f***ing mess Blame them not Rafa Some people just dont get it Stop it just stop it now!!! Rafa is not untochable at all, why is it we all praise him when we win etc but when we loose and play sh*t we blame everything or anyone but him!!!
Logic Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 For those who want Benitez to stay: On what do you base it? Do you base it on the dreadful football we play? Or on all those draws? Or do you base it on a miracle in 2005?
floyd Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 4th place, never mind a Champions League win is going to be hard enough with some good players, carrying passengers, who don't have any fight or desire in them. Team spirit looks fvcked
fyds Posted February 16, 2008 Posted February 16, 2008 but we were like this before HandG arrived...no? He's been here for three finishes, two of which were 3rd above Arsenal and we've been in five cup finals in that time - yes five - one FA Cup (won) two CL finals (won 1 lost 1) one League Cup final (lost) and a Supercup (won). At least do a modicum of thinking before you post.
