Are We More Concerned About Being Loyal?

...To our managers than bringing the Premiership Trophy to Anfield?

If we are, then Liverpool Football Club will live on the odd cup trophy and past glories, and therefore be finished as a football giant.

What qualifications does Jurgen Klinsmann have to bring the Premiership trophy to Anfield, that Rafa doesn't?

In terms of finance, which is seemingly the way the game is going,at the moment it looks like we're finished as a "football giant" anyway.

Completely out of our depth in terms of spending,in comparison with our domestic rivals, anyway.

Two clubs have dominated the last 10 years with regards to the Premiership. And it's no coincidence that they've had the most stability and backing over those years.

It's not a question of loyalty or titles, you can clearly have both. In fact, one is more likely to follow the other.

This is Rafa Benitez we're talking about, not fecking Graeme Souness. The man will deliver the league if he is given the opportunity and backing to do so. G&H have talked the talk and want rid of Benitez basically because he has asked them to cough up the money for transfers that was promised.

Give me proof that Benitez will play all these star signings week in week out and indeed win us the league if he got this 'investment'?

It's the grey area

Where is your proof that changing the manager will do any good?

Where did I say anything of the sort?

It's true to an extent and certainly the Mancs ended up benefitting hugely from giving Fergusaon more time than most would give him now.

Wenger won the double in his first full season though, so it's a bit of a chicken and egg argument about whether they've succeeded because he's been there for the long haul, or whether he's been there for the long haul because he succeeded.

It hasn't been all bad for Benitez the past few years.

Best English CM, One of the best English CB, One of the best Argentinian DM, One of the best Goal Keepers in the world, One of the most consistant RB in the league, one of the most slick passers in the league, the best Spanish striker, the best Dutch striker in recent times,

I know he did. He still had that early success though, even if half the job had been done for him - so you can't say for sure he'd have been given a long time in any case.

No way would he get that much time these days, not a prayer. Too much at stake.

Great point, mate.

that had just finished 10th, 4th, 12th & 5th the previous 4 seasons.........

Everton have stuck with Moyes after he could easily have been sacked, they're starting to look like a real team now.

Wenger has been given the time, he's earned it too.

I think it's more reavealing to look at the clubs who regulary change their manager and compare their trophy hauls.

Man City? Newcastle? Villa? - All big clubs, all faild to win anything of note in years.

don't think the standard of domestic opposition he was up against was of the quality it is now either. it's a different landscape.

he didnt inherit all of that did he? all of those elements have only been together this season.

I am not saying he hasnt made mistakes, but this is a fluid situation. Wenger wouldnt have got the success he had as early had he inherited the type of squad Benitez had at Liverpool. I am not decrying what he has acheieved cause he is a sensational manager.

Sometimes you need to have faith and back the mans judgement. I am not convinced there is some kind of magic wand that will allow you to just challenge. It will take a few quid and an element of luck.

If Ferguson was to enter management now at United he would be sacked within three years, in fact he wouldnt have even got the job. We are up against it with the likes of United and Chelsea on the scene due to there spending power, and like it or not, I think it is 5 times more difficult to get into the top spot now than it was 20 even 10 years ago

And here is an example of why it's pointless debating anything with this idiot.

Don't be such a kid, I was simply making the point that the managers that Man City, Villa and Newcastle have had over the years have been s***, and Benitez is on another to them.

It's not a rule that those clubs who stick with their manager achieve more sucess, look at ourselves, we sacked Houllier when we finished 4th and ended up winning the champions league?

Give Benitez that team he would have won the league

give wenger our squad would he have won the Champions LEague in his 1st season
