Guest Snorky Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 How is he doing at Newcastle? Missing us.
billybunter Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 no, we have torres in that mould and im quite happy with him....we need a partner for torres
DarthVader Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Don't think Owen would be a good investment. He's 29 this year, injury prone over the last 2 years ans is on 100k plus a week.
Billy Dane Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 He's 29 this year, injury prone over the last 2 years ans is on 100k plus a week. and still better than 3 of our strikers?
Guest JV Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 (edited) Let it go. Edited January 13, 2008 by JV
Gunga Din Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Owen is finished. he just cant stay fit. i wonder how much he regrets stalling for 2 years on his contract and screwing us over?
McBain Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Voronin or Owen? Owen. Voronin or Owen with one leg? Owen
Falconhoof Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I'd rather give Nemeth a chance than either of them.
Dan Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Should change the title of the thread to: "Well it wouldn't be a transfer windown without my biannual obsession with Michael Owen" He's all washed up, let it go.
Guest My Giddy Aunt Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 HA ridiculous. We are not a pension provider you know? Maybe he WAS better then some of our current strikers but he would cost us money to replace them and that would negate any benefit.
Cunny Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 On the basis that apart from Torres we are bankrupt up front, I'd take a punt on Owen on a pay as you play deal.
madaboutlfc Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 and still better than 3 of our strikers? lets compare records of last 2 seasons
Gunga Din Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 On the basis that apart from Torres we are bankrupt up front, I'd take a punt on Owen on a pay as you play deal. i'd rather take a punt on Nemeth. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing him
Stevie H Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Owen is finished. he just cant stay fit. i wonder how much he regrets stalling for 2 years on his contract and screwing us over?he must do. he's done absolutely nothing since then, a few sub appearances for madrid aside.
Cooldude Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Damaged goods, do not touch unless on EXTREMELY REDUCED wages and a small transfer fee
Cunny Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 i'd rather take a punt on Nemeth. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing him good point but we need more than one extra forward to compliment Torres. However, Nemeth does not even get a sub role in cup games. El Zhar seems to be ahead of him in the pecking order.
M4TTA Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Kev mate, come one. I know you are really gutted about the way the season is going / gone. I am too. Finding it hard to get myself interested for the games at the moment because i just don't know who's going to turn up.But wanting owen back is a) not going to happen, b) pointless. He's not the player you want him to be anymore, nor is he the player we need. I just wish crouch would et a f***ing run at the moment. f*** knows what he's' done to piss rafa off.
surf Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 I still think he's better than Kuyt, Voronin and Crouch. For a transfer fee of the 3 million being bandied about i'd welcome him back with open arms.
Guest JV Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 i'd rather take a punt on Nemeth. we have nothing to lose and everything to gain by playing himIs the sensible answer.
McBain Posted January 13, 2008 Posted January 13, 2008 Rafa's always been one to admit his mistakes in the market and ship out the dross he signs fast. This has to be done with Voronin, Either sell or send to the ressies. Anything.
