what an idiot, did he really need the manager to explain his decision?

some footballers really have no grasp of reality, he probably thinks he has been in good form this season!

reckon you'd get odds on him never playing for england again?

he will go the way of Ian walker

the thing is, Carson is not that much better, and if england are really considering a clown like almunia (even though he is spanish) than they are in real trouble

Hart at man city might get a call up to the squad under cappelo

The Fiver strikes again:

The general view is that confused Spurs goalkeeper Paul Robinson was "axed" from last night's creditable-draw-en-route-to-inevitable-sickening-defeat in the Carling Cup. The Fiver likes to think of it more as a piece of selective trimming, the kind of task performed with a pair of pinking shears on a misty October morning that leaves you a little out of breath but quietly satisfied at a job well done. So it seems to have been for Juande "Ruthless" Ramos, who has been uncoiling his trimmer once again and preparing to set about the inordinately bushy and shapeless shrub he inherited from funny old Mr Jol when the council had him moved on. "We all know that we are playing for our futures," squeaked Jermaine Jenas, who has been listening at the potting shed door. "We all know we have to perform every time we go on the pitch."

Well nobody ever explained that to Pascal Chimbonda. Already gathering woodlice in the compost bin, the ambling full-back has decided to get his retaliation in early. "Would Pascal welcome a move to Aston Villa? Of course he would. He is looking to leave Tottenham and Villa are a big club with great potential," laughed loveable, roguish Mr 15% Willie McKay this afternoon. Chimbonda-watchers will already be nodding at the subtler nuances of their man's attempt to - gently, oh so gently - catch the eye of the man in the tight black trackies at the Villa. This is of course the same Chimbonda who ensured a decent whip-round for his leaving card at Wigan by presenting Paul Jewell with a written transfer request in the dressing room after the last game of the season. Ripe for a dead-heading.

Meanwhile the man with the barbershop-window hair has already begun hawking his off-cuts off down to the farmers' market. "He is a good goalkeeper, which he has demonstrated with his career so far," Ramos said, propping up England's former No1 with an extra bamboo stick and giving him a spritz of Miracle-Gro. "We all know what a good goalkeeper he is come on then four million pahnd lovely keeper he is look at them chunky thighs, free million then? No? You sir? No?"
