If we get to the final (ever the optimist), are you gonna go to Moscow or watch it at home/pub?

On the same point, when do UEFA start the ticket application process for the unallocated seats?

Anyone brave enough to go overland?

Deffo not going. No money now never mind for a european final.

Not doing a single away this season and been probably 10 years since that happened.

Moscow from the outside in looks a dodgy place? Worries me a tad.

I'd love to go, just a pity it ain't in Berlin or somewhere like that..

They do stick them in the weirdest of places don't they! I still don't know how Istanbul got awarded that final.

True, that's basically Asia Minor there..

I think they're really trying to move them about but when it's the Western Europe clubs getting there it gets a bit mad on the travelling and price..

I think I'll have to start a slush fund for finals!!!

Even aside from the location, they just didn't have the infrastructure to cope, it was a disaster from start to finish. Athens was a dream in comparison, even with the problems in the airport.

you reckon? in terms of organisation, athens was the biggest pile of s**** i have ever known. we really were treated like third class citizens. everything from sleeping on the runway and jumping on any plane that went past, to the fecking debacle of the fecking carpark.

istanbul was a stroll in the park compared to athens mate.

Would like to go.. I know I would probably never go to Russia in my life unless its footy or business trip.. would like to experience it.

Athens was my first Euro Final... and it obviously isn't the best memory.. would love to have a memory like Istanbul to look back on.

Dortmund was probably worse, but then that'll be down to germna effienciency working spot on. NOT.

Istanbul had all the problems of Athens (but worse) and on top of that it took 2 hours to get to the stadium from less than a mile away, and the stadium was a s*** hole.

Athens was a LOT better organised than Istanbul, both were a complete disgrace though.

That's not really possible, is it?

It was probably less than a mile to be honest, it was f***ing bizarre, we were on a hill looking at the stadium, thinking we'd be there in 5 mins, 2 hours later we still weren't in. We had to stay on the bus so we'd be able to get back to the airport.

I'm sure there's an Irish logic in there somewhere.

Agree with everything there mate, Athens was an absolute sham. The one difference aswell was that in Istanbul, i felt as though the Turks wanted us there, they welcomed us. Didnt get the same vibe off them in Athens. And im not even going to go in to the refugee camp that they called the airport, thousands of people wandering around the side of the runway, planes taking off without checking tickets, We were told we couldnt get on our flight because it was full! Had to wait 10hours and bunk on another. Theyd let any c*** on! People having to start fires on the runway to keep warm,no food, no drink. It was a disgrace. Istanbul was bad, but atleast they provided some shelter in the airport. The airport in Athens was like a picture from some humanitarian crisis in Africa. If you where there you'll know what i mean, ive never seen anything like it in my life. Whatever happens, if we get anywhere again, id never do the daytrip. Its hell on earth

I'll be going if we get there, I'm lucky in so much as accommodation won't be a problem. UEFA really need to get their sh*t together this time out though - I have dark misgivings about how Putin's boys will respond to their lack of organisational clarity and substance.

I know, imagine any of the goings on from istanbul/athens in moscow! f***in hell, the police would lead you off, never to be seen again. Ive just finished a book "the 12th commandment" and alot of it is set in Russia. f***in scarey b*****d place that is

I've been there a few times - most recently earlier this summer for a few days on a conference. It's a bit like the wild west out there - a very decent if fatalistic and laconic people on the whole...what I'm also aware of though is that the ordinary police, never mind their darker NSB cousins need little or no excuse to bounce truncheons off heads. I'm looking forward and hoping we get there - but not without a fair degree of trepidation.
