DUDEK: WHERE'S MY START?

Jerzy Dudek admits he may have to leave Real Madrid if he is to fulfil his goal of playing at Euro 2008 with Poland.

Dudek joined Real this summer after being released by Liverpool, but the 34-year-old has yet to play a competitive match for the Primera Liga champions with Iker Casillas the undisputed number one.

Dudek also made just one appearance for Poland during their successful Euro 2008 qualifying campaign, but it seems he is in coach Leo Beenhakker's plans for next summer - as long as he playing more at club level.

"I do not regret coming here. When I signed for Real Madrid I knew that I was coming to the best club in the world and that I was coming as the second goalkeeper," he said.

"I accepted it, and I could not say no to a club like Madrid. I came to try to play and to learn the values of this great institution.

"But things have changed a little now, that is true. Poland have qualified for the the first time for the European Championships and I have received an important call from my coach.

"Leo Beenhakker told me that if I play with regularity I would be his goalkeeper at the European Championships and I am now facing a difficult decision.

"I have not stopped thinking about this situation for the last week. I want to play in the European Championships, which is going to be an historic moment for our country, and in Madrid I have not played at all.

"I think the best thing will be for us all to sit down and talk," he added in Marca.

"I have a contract for the next three seasons, but I would like to see what possibilities I have of leaving. I am going to talk openly with Real Madrid to take the best decision for all the parties.

"For me, I would like to go, but Real Madrid have the final decision."

Yet funny how he didn't bother playing for Poland during the qualifiers but was happy to sit on the Real bench and make money. All of the sudden he wants in on the Euro glory. If I had been the Polish manager I wouldn't have him back. If I'm not mistaken the current Polish keeper isn't too bad either.

Another one who couldn't turn down an offer from "The Greatest Club in the World" pity the Barcodes have a decent keeper as he may have followed Little Mickey in his football travels.

Why be bitter? We didn't want him so he wanted to try his luck there - and btw, if you really believe that Madrid aren't the biggest club in football then you don't know much about the game.

The nastiness that is shown to some of our ex players on here is just pathetic and I don't get it at all.
