I'm a bit worried, perhaps unduly, that supporting Rafa with the march etc is beginning to make the match a bit of a sideshow. We have to win this vital game against a very good side indeed and we need a huge show from the crowd. While singing Rafa's name for over half an hour (as has been done before) would be a great show of support, I think that singing all the other songs in the repetoire (sp.?) just as loud and just as proud would be a more effective way of backing the team. Some may say it's just about volume, and the BBC/Hillsborough protest against Arsenal was special in that regard (the roar after the 6 minutes was as loud as I've ever heard at the ground) but players hear the songs and if they are just about Rafa, it wouldn't be right, once they are on the pitch it has to be about the players.

I know how important it is that Rafa stays in his job for now. Even if you disagree with his methods and might even like to see Rafa go, losing a manager in the way suggested by the newspapers and intimated by the lack of a response by the owners, would be dreadful for our club. But let's not get distracted, tonight, in the ground, is about winning a game to stay in the champion's league.

ps..my 24 months pregnant wife is coming to the game tonight and at that stage of development the baby can hear quite well. I'm hoping it's going to be a special atmosphere tonight so that the little thing is pushed out in March already able to hum Poor Scouser Tommy.

pps..See you at the Sandon.

I'm sure there will be songs about the players too, especially after we get the early goal we all crave.

Dont worry, the players won't be letting us down tonight.

perhaps she's not pregnant, just really piling on the weight, and she's told Spud that it's cause she's having a baby innit.

Or he meant 24 weeks pregnant but said months

The continuous "Justice for the 96" chant v Arsenal seemed to distract our players slightly.

Before and during halftime - fine, but prolonged chants during the match that are not directly in support of the team are counter productive imo, whether for a worthy cause or not.

erm.............

it was of course a deliberate error designed to amuse the forum at a time when people were in a range of depressive and anxious moods about the state of our football club.

Either that or I'm a bit of a f*ckwit.
