Let's hope, Babel / Kuyt dont get pick for Holland Let's Pepe remains on the bench for the whole of Euro 08, let's hope Spain gets knocked off early so it's early rest & relax for Xabi, Arbeloa, Torres
Guz Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Wouldnt mind seeing Kuyt/Babel being picked if only for the reason it'd mean they had a good season..
Ramón Benítez Hernández Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Kewell He earns his f*ckin living out of resting.
Siang Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 He earns his f*ckin living out of resting. He's living up to the Aussies' reputation of being a lazy, relaxed and talented sportsmen!!!
San Diego Red Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 He earns his f*ckin living out of resting.Keep in mind he's out of contract in the summer.
SkippyjonJones Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Keep in mind he's out of contract in the summer. and, pray tell us, how will we tell the f***ing difference? Edited November 22, 2007 by SkippyjonJones
psl Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Decent rest for Neville, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney, Terry, Cole, J Cole, Lampard etc too.
Cunny Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Only really affects Gerrard from an England point of view. They will be tournament warm up fodder for the qualifying nations well into June anyway.I think the South American world cup qualifiers can go on through June and July.Argentina play in world cup qualifiers on 14th and 17th June, 2008. So, no rest at all for Mascherano.http://www.fifa.com/worldcup/preliminaries...ches/index.html Edited November 22, 2007 by Cunny
honourablegeorge Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Hopefully Gerrard won't be affected by England going out, in terms of his morale, etc. He was alsolutely dreadful in that game. Not quite Wayne Bridge bad, but not far off.
woodpecker Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 By the way - AGGER will be on leave as well and superhungry for top-footy after a summer of 'being left out'.
Rimbeux Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Far more positive effect for Man U and Chelsea as others have pointed out. We may have an issue in terms of the hangover. Gerrard we hope will be able to put it away and dive into club matters, but he has a history of carrying setbacks around. Carson will hopefully recover well enough not to put his move in jeopardy, Crouch will hopefully not see doors closing.
Stew F Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Crouch will hopefully not see doors closing. More likely to see them opening on last nights display.
Rimbeux Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 More likely to see them opening on last nights display. Depends if that means money or performance benefit to us or both I suppose, just get the impression England has been a good outlet for him
Rory Fitzgerald Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Keep in mind he's out of contract in the summer. Absence makes Benitez think he is our saviour on the left the heart grow fonder ! Surely
Stew F Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 Depends if that means money or performance benefit to us or both I suppose, just get the impression England has been a good outlet for himFWIW i think he's already gone. His England performances and goal ratio can't do his value any harm though.
Flight Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 (edited) Only really affects Gerrard from an England point of view. They will be tournament warm up fodder for the qualifying nations well into June anyway. I read that as the FA stands to lose tens of millions of pounds, they had already started arranging a series of friendly tours for the middle of next year, before yesterdays game. ****ing livid about this, to be honest. edit : Decent rest for Neville, Ferdinand, Carrick, Rooney, Terry, Cole, J Cole, Lampard etc too. Ah well, every cloud etc Edited November 22, 2007 by Flight
The_MC Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I can see the FA bringing in a 5 nations cup for this summer to give england, ireland, n.ireland, scotland, wales fans something to watch.
Rimbeux Posted November 22, 2007 Posted November 22, 2007 I can see the FA bringing in a 5 nations cup for this summer to give england, ireland, n.ireland, scotland, wales fans something to watch. Please god no.
Bo Benn Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 I can see the FA bringing in a 5 nations cup for this summer to give england, ireland, n.ireland, scotland, wales fans something to watch. Nations? In what way are they (bar Ireland) nations?
The_MC Posted November 23, 2007 Posted November 23, 2007 Nations? In what way are they (bar Ireland) nations? "A nation is a form of cultural or social community. Nationhood is an ethical and philosophical doctrine and is the starting point for the ideology of nationalism. Members of a "nation" share a common identity, and usually a common origin, in the sense of ancestry, parentage or descent. Usage also varies from country to country. As an example, the United Kingdom is an internationally recognised sovereign state, which is also referred to as a country and whose inhabitants have British nationality. It is however traditionally divided into four home nations - England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland." -wikipedia
Duncan Disorderly Posted November 24, 2007 Posted November 24, 2007 Point no.1...Including Ireland in the Home Nations might be quite good. Point no2...Internationals already take too much out of the domestic leagues and I really can't stand them, so I couldn't really give a shyte!
