mick Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Is he injured or something? I thought he would be ideal for a match like today even to bring him off the bench. Suprised he wasn't included as he offers a different option to our other midfield players
CaptainXabi Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 1. It's Yom Kippur2. He wouldn't have made a difference today. He's not all that frankly.
Guest Finnan3 Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 we can only include 4 outfield subs. No rule says we have to have a keeper on the bench.
RafaShanks Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I personally couldn't see why we bought Yossi, but he hasn't been given a chance this season...FACT. He would have been perfect today against a well drilled and organised defensive unit.
mick Posted September 22, 2007 Author Posted September 22, 2007 we can only include 4 outfield subs. I know. I was wondering why he wasn't in the squad.
Maldini Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 No rule says we have to have a keeper on the bench. common sense does though
Maldini Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I know. I was wondering why he wasn't in the squad.Captain Xabi's answer probably covers that
Magic8Ball Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Bring back little Luis. And Owen.well Owen certainly
Keita Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Is he injured or something? I thought he would be ideal for a match like today even to bring him off the bench. Suprised he wasn't included as he offers a different option to our other midfield players all of a sudden a player who has done feck all is our saviour all of a sudden.
Bootle Buck Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Bring back Danny Murphy and Didi while your at it.
Mad_Fer_It Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 both of them had good games today too... haha
anny road Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I personally couldn't see why we bought Yossi, but he hasn't been given a chance this season...FACT. He would have been perfect today against a well drilled and organised defensive unit. the Echo yesterday said it was doubtful he would play as it was Yom Kippur and he wa fasting for 25 hours
Nerik Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I think Yossi would have been useful if available. It was the type of game in which we were camped in the opposing half and created few chances of note. If Yossi was available he could have been on the bench instead of a striker. Babel would have been a 4th striking option. With Pennant injured we could have brought on Yossi at RM. We could have pushed up Riise to LM, switched Arbeloa to LB and brought on Finnan at RB. That would have given us two new pairs of players down the wings and another try at making headway against the resolute Brum defence.
Guest Snorky Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 When you sign for Liverpool, you leave any religion at home. Seriously pissed off with this.
oran Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 you need to understand that if he played, the result could have been him losing the captain role of israel.someone in his position in israel might pay a big price for publicly break "yom kippur".you need to understand that in this one day,the whole country just stops.there is nothing.not even news.
monkey puzzle Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 I agree with Snorky on this one, you can't pick and choose your matches. On another point why don't we just have 5 outfield players on the bench. The amount of times that a keeper gets injured can be counted on one hand, surely the extra outfield option would work more times than it fails?
Redwire Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 you need to understand that if he played, the result could have been him losing the captain role of israel.someone in his position in israel might pay a big price for publicly break "yom kippur".you need to understand that in this one day,the whole country just stops.there is nothing.not even news. So even if you are an atheist you would have to take part in all that religious b*llocks even when outside Israel or risk your place in the national team?
realtarragona Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 When you sign for Liverpool, you leave any religion at home. Don't be ridiculous. Just because we're not religious doesn't mean we should expect those who are to just abandon it when they sign for us. Anyway based on his last game we weren't missing much.
Guest Snorky Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 On another issue, if he has made himself unavailable for reasons other than being injured or suspended, will he still get paid this week ?
MFletcher Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 We have to respect his religious beliefs. As oran says, it's an extremely important day for Jews and we should respect that.
badtodabone Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 (edited) it's an extremely important day for Jews THE MOST important day Edited September 23, 2007 by badtodabone
Guest spk Posted September 23, 2007 Posted September 23, 2007 people are granted time off for religious, personal and medical reasons in every profession. i cant believe some of this s***. some of you lot are really behaving like spoilt c**** at the minute. yossi and presumably momo had been fasting, theyd have had low energy and been at significant risk of getting injured. the respective midfield generals for england and argentina were more than good enough to have bossed the game yesterday but they didnt man up and threw away two points. so we put in a couple of dodgy performancea - thats going to happen to every team over the course of a season so lets get it out of the way now while we're recovering from injury and a fair amount of travel over a short period. we remain unbeaten and still came away with points. lets leave it there and hope the management and coaching staff can get our boys to start putting in 100% again.
