:o You have besmirched my honour sir, I demand satisfaction, I challenge you to a duel!

Seriously though, Riise gets a lot of goals when he plays LM

Posted

Riise has scored 71% of his goals when playing LM, although he has only scored 23% of that 71% when Crouch has been in the team. 24% of the remaining 77% (of the 71%) were from Gerrard passes. Riise has a record of 2.45 goals scored per Tuesday and 19 headers a week.

I rest my case.

True, but Cisse scored goals playing up front!

I consent to your dual, I choose the method of top trumps and the parammeter of passing accuracy

QED, no come back to that, it was all so clear all along

It's another option though, and he's at least guarantee us goals from midfield.

You're right - he would also be a defensively strong option for the wing if we were facing the likes of Messi and needed to double up.

With Riise we are just waiting for the FIFA rule change that should come in once FV starts playing soccerball. The ginger man will be our kick free specialist team player.

How did Kaizer get Maldini's login?

I love that since the mods moved this to it's own thread it makes Maldini look like a lunatic, replying to himself in the first three posts.

when I split this topic from the transfer thread, I actually typed in 'the world vs.Kaizer' as the sub-title and was a bit shocked when I double checked and saw it wasn't Kaizer.

it's very apt

As for Riise - great or shoite.

He's an average defender and a decent left mid. Jack of all trades master of none type player.

But I'd still much prefer him as our left back than the lumbering oaf that is now Gabriel Heinze

But what really winds me up with Riise, is his hoofing, his total inability to use his right foot even for a simple pass, resulting in him just hacking the ball from all angles. Plus his lack of football intelligence, taking 20 shots from all distances and angles every game, when there is often a far better option on to pass.

in actual fact those three posts were consecutive in the original thread as well.... ergo he is a lunatic.

Then you will want to write Slur a thank you note as according to Sly, while in Japan he's said 'Uf Gabby Hein-tser leaves Marnchuster Yew-knighted, ut wornt be fur Loverpool' (or something like that ;)

Mind you - If he does have a buy out clause, sod all Slur or anyone else can do about it apart from Rafa.

Riise better defender than he's often given credit for, passing needs to improve as does his bottle when in the last quarter and needing to get past a defender to put a cross in. I'd rather keep than sell overall.

Riise isnt good enough to hold down a regular place in our first team. scoring the odd screamer seems to make him look a better player, but for me, he isnt great at defending, s***s out of too many tackles, gives the ball away far too much, and is caught out of position too often. factor in the fact that he is ginger, and its a lost cause. new left back, see you later JAR, shut the door on the way out.

His positives: stamina and ability to score goals

His negatives: can't beat a man, not great at defending, ginger, odd hoof-ball instinct

Amen.

Plus he's the only player I've ever seen who was running with the ball bouncing off his shins. Touch like the Ripper.

A few more positives: good in the air for a full-back, gets into the box well when at left mid, good fitness record (c.f. Aurelio, Kewell etc)

He's a good player, not great, who has had a poor season last year. When he is on form, he is good enough to hold down a regular place in the side, be it midfield or fullback.

When he is not, he is at best not a total liability.

I think he's a good squad player.

I Like Riise, but something made me laugh.

Reading the report of the Bremen game it said "JAR scored with a trademark free kick."

Pretty loose use of the word trade mark.
