The ownership rights and registration rights seem to be completely different. I hope to God this WHU - Mancs deal for Tevez doesn't feck up Mascherano's deal with us. I can't believe WHU can loan out a player who single-handidly kept them up. To LOAN a player like that to the current Champions is ludicrous. IMO Utd should have to fork over the total cost now. I would be happy if we paid full price for Masch. This deal gets shadier by the minute.

It will certainly get interesting when the case hits the High Court - I think the judge will want to see actual legal proof of the situation not all this 'scouts honour' rubbish that the PL has accepted. It may be because of the threat of serious questions from a real court that the PL is now trying to appear to play hardball with the Tevez transfer.

... only problem was it was in the middle of the season, so we probably 'lost' Mascher for 4-6 weeks while it was being sorted. These tossers will have Tevez for the start of next season.

Due to the fact that both players are on loan now speaks volumes about their contracts.

Still gutted they got Tevez though

Presumably, after we uncovered the 3rd party ownership of Masch and Tevez in January, the FA will have forced WHU to change their contract with MSI to comply with the FA regulations, so his contractual situation is most probably different to that of Mascherano.

Has the club ever categorically come out and explained the situation with Mascharano (i.e. that he's here for another year with the option to buy for x million)?

All the murkiness and conflicting reports have me somewhat worried.

be interesting to here how egg head explains away telling sky sports about 2 weeks that tevez has 3 years left on a contract with them and they own his registration.

aye. Absolutely impossible to argue that loaning him to the Mancs is their decision.

West Ham were happy for us to take Mascherano, but they want to keep Tevez. Surely under the ruling of the Premier League, he is bound to West Ham then?

Oh it's gonna hit the fan big style!! Bet MSI will issue a staement next saying he's our player to do as we wish with!

Doesnt really say much to be honest. It says no agreement has been made, not that there has been no discussion

It may well get messy but it was always going to since no one really knows his situation (and that statement doesnt clear anything up)

I think one thing that statement tries to makes clear is it doesn't matter how many conversations the mancs have with Kia, they have to deal direct with WHam, if they own his registration for the next 3 years.... hopefully it will get really messy and drag on until november and he plays for west ham.... here's hoping anyway

I think what that statement says is "give us some money and we won't kick up a fuzz".

The Mancs work under a different set of rules though.....it will happen!!

How is it a different set of rules? We got Mascherano on a loan deal!

We dealt with West Ham, allowing the Premier league to scrutinise our paperwork for 3 weeks. Slightly different to doing a quick deal with an agent over in South America and then allowing the agent to announce it to the media.

A bit of sarcasm on my part....if there's a way to interpret the rules that will advantage the Mancs it will happen.
