HT US 0 - 1 MEX Good goal from Guardado right before the half

Entertaining match so far. Both sides had chances with Mexico getting the late goal. Feilhaber looking good for the US. Guardado is a young talent to watch for Mexico.

That was a great match to watch. It was played at a great pace considering it is being played post season for many. What a cracking goal to win it and a big save from Howard.

It's fine if you're not interested, but why even post then?

i was bored ;)

i am waiting for the asian championship to start in july

I watched the game in a sports bar which was packed to the rafters with Mexico fans, they had to close the doors about 30 minutes before the game started as the bar had reached its capacity.

The noise was amazing as the Mexican fans never stopped shouting, singing or blowing air horns until the USA equalizer. When the 2nd USA goal went in, the place went eerily quiet and emptied out quickly at the end.

I am now the proud owner of a Mexican flag, a Chivas hat and an air horn, all left behind as the Mexican fans were not too pleased with their team.

The USA team has some decent players coming through to replace the older guys, and it will be interesting to see how the kids perform in the Copa America.

I went to the College World Series baseball after the soccer and although it was fun to watch, the atmosphere was not quite the same.

Great atmosphere, even came through over the tv. When Feilhaber scored the 2nd, the Mexican fans went church quiet. Entertaining football, the whole way.

Does this mean you're going to watch the Chivas USA matches then?

not quite.

I spoke to a couple of Mexican guys yesterday and they reckon that there may be more Mexican teams setting up clubs in MLS over the next few years, probably in cities with a high Hispanic population. The Mexican fans are crazy for any kind of soccer. There is an all Hispanic Sunday league in the Omaha metro and they get hundreds of people turning out to watch the games, plus they only play in the really warm weather and the game day is one huge party from morning until night.

There were more than that in Mexico City alone who watched the Gold Cup Final, nevermind everywhere else.
