we tried and failed to get thhis off the ground last year, but essentially, all it is, is adopting a Scottish 3rd Division team and getting a busload up to watch them and go on the lash.

well, this season, their season starts a week before ours, and the fixture list is as follows

Saturday, 04 August 2007

Dumbarton v Elgin, 15:00

East Fife v East Stirling, 15:00

Montrose v Albion, 15:00

Stenhousemuir v Arbroath, 15:00

Stranraer v Forfar, 15:00

so who should we choose to support. i think last year we were edging towards Brechin City, due to the fact that they have a real bonefide hedge running down one side of the pitch, and they play in red. however, they are Division 2, and their opening game is away at Queens PArk who play in fecking Hampden!

so its got to be one of these games. so essentially, we pick a team, get numbers, hire a bus, pre warn them we are coming, and then go on the lash on the 4th of August in Scotland

so who should it be?

anyone got any preferences, any of them have any links to Liverpool that could strengthen their claim??

Montrose and Stranraer would be the longest trips if you're driving from England. Not as long as Elgin would've been if they were at home though.

I can understand why Stranraer lie so lowly

They could save a lot of points by signing Hibs Goalie

But I can't understand why we let someone else rule our land, cap in hand

If it was Stranraer then i could nip over on the ferry to watch the match.

Why can't we adopt a 'wee English team'

i thought you'd be well up for this since you have never actually been to Scotland

A prerequisite for wanting to go to Scotland.

East Fife definately :D

The fact I stay about 200 yards from the ground might have a bearing on the choice mind you ;)

They look like they could have a fair stab at winning the 3rd division this year so it would be nice to follow a winning team.

A link to Liverpool is that the great man Bill Shankly played for East Fife during the war :D

Stirling Albion's old ground was Annfield.

I played there a few times.

They got promoted to Division 1 last season.

East Fife V East Stirlingshire should be a laugh. (The later being among the worst teams in the UK for the last few years. Although I'm sure there was some story last year about them getting a rich investor -- think he put in about 50k or something)

then after you could pop up to troon and kick the f*** out of johnny adair again.

Aye we gotta do this. Are we organising a bus with a driver as part of the deal or is one of us driving?

we'll just hire a bus, if theres enough of us it'll only be a few quid each.
