Carson kept a clean sheet in England's first match last night, a 0-0 draw with the Czech Republic. Lita missed a pen for England 3 minutes from full time. Was a very poor match by all accounts.

The entire tournament has been absolutely piddle poor. There are clearly no good young players coming through in Europe, and certainly no good teams. They are all useless!

 

And I know exactly why. It's the ball. Since they started arsing about the new technologically superior light balls to deceive goalkeepers, all they do is deceive the players themselves so they are less likely to have shots from range or put loads of crosses in.

 

Bring back the Tango, that's what i say. Or the Azteca.

My take on the first half. Noble looks a good player....looks to have a bit of class about him.

 

Lita might miss a few but to give him credit he doesnt give up.

 

Reo Coker good enough for a big club my a*** and Steven Taylor is like a white Bramble.

 

For the Italians - That Chellini lad we're meant to be looking seems like a good player. Didn't know anything about the goal but he likes to get forward and can pick out a pass. Looks a mean f***** also!

 

Carson looks very solid as well.

Watched a couple of Belgium's games and Van Den Borre has been the best player in all the games I've seen so far, he looks a class act, only 19 but plays (and looks) like he's about 30. He's going to be world class in a few years, Fiorentina are supposed to be getting him. Mirallas has looked good for them too.

 

Rosina for Italy is the other one who has stood out, he reminds me of Di Canio and Zola, brilliant at finding space and a great passer.

Yeah, he looked quality, great left foot. He plays a bit like Edgar Davids (obvious comparison I know) when in midfield and Roberto Carlos when at LB. Haven't seem him really tested at LB to say whether he's good enough for us yet.
