Why are people so impatient these days? We've already announced the siging of 3 players. The transfer window isn't even open yet and we're already complaining, The spanish league is still going on and yet people are moaning that we haven't signed Eto'o, Alves, Milito and Torres yet. Apart from Man utd none of the other premiership sides have made any significant signings yet. I firmly believe that we will be a significant player in the upcoming transfer window. I don't beleive any of the media hype about lack of funds, Benitez unhappy etc. Imo it's being deliberatly leaked by the club so that we don't get quoted silly money for transfers. I am hoping however that we make most of our signings before the end of June so they can get a full pre-season under the belt

Because many are thick, bored, kids, football manager players on a computer consoles, etc...

 

Lets face it, again over a hundred pages on the transfer thread and none of them actually say anything and this is the second time the transfer thread has been started since Athens.

I used to try and keep up with it just in case there was something worth reading but it is the same nonsense from armchair managers without a financial or footballing clue every day.

Why these people always believe the speculative nonsense from the media astounds me.

It must really frustrate the decent posters to see a good post totally b****xed by the drivel that gets posted in response.

 

It will get worse too. Once we have completed any signings, there will be the usual plefora of posts with neatly arranged team layouts of how those individuals see the team lineup and each players position and how it would work.

 

The club has returned to the old way of doing things. We, the supporters will not know a great deal about anything until it is actually happening and too late for another club to scupper it.

 

I, for one, have stopped reading the nonsense and will wait for the clubs official announcements.

The only thing that has concerned me was what Rafa said the morning after the CL Final. He had two signings he wanted wrapped up immediately. Its very possible, though, that the things he said and things he has leaked through the press are being sued so clubs don't ask stupid prices for players we want to buy.

 

We've waited every year since that summer Digger, Beardsley and Houghton signed for good signings, which we have known we have needed and almost always been disappointed. Lets hope we won't be this time around, no matter how long it takes.

Isnt it slightly wierd to just think all the business is done after July 1st, if so how come scum have done all their dealing right now? Rafa categorically stated we shouldnt wait, there was a reason for this .......... There do appear to be problems, this summer will prove if the yanks were all talk

The problem is no matter what spin you put on it; Positive or negative.

 

No one knows anything and speculation is rife at the moment, frustration will always be generated.

 

I for one am hoping for signings but I know things take time and nothing I speculate will make one iota of difference.

I somehow doubt it seeing as Rafa said the two players concerned would cost 15m euros - 20m euros each

Think it was always going to be the case that nothing could be announced until after the spanish season ended if we were going to bring any players in from there. Having said that, Hicks last week talking about a player being announced in the next week or so is obviously suggesting a major signing which must be outside the spanish league.

He also said they were ready to be signed immediately Fyds and that he wanted them signed immediately and within a week. Personally, thats the only thing that I've seen or read that has me concerned with regards to transfers.

The transfer window is open, it opened on 1 June you just can't play your new players until the 1 July.

Even then you can get around it by calling them guests.

Well....first of all I think Rafa was the first one to be impatient....so why shouldn't the rest of us who knows nothing of what's going on be a little impatient??

 

I know I want us to sign all the worlds' best players ASAP!!!
