I believe that footballs governing bodies decide who should progress in tournaments, or rather who should definitly not progress in tournaments.

On the international scene you get Eng-ur-land chanting morons p*ssing on everything laid out for them and beating the turds out of opposition fans when they loose. They rape and pilage and marauder across the planet at tournaments and then wonder why they get knocked out by the hand of god / beckams sending off / rooneys sending off / goals scored from free kicks awarded for nothing etc. Then at club level we see some very weird desicions being made.

It's my belief that at some stage of the competition the governing bodies look at the behaviour of certain fans / managers / teams / clubs and decide "these people are a bunch of ****s and we don't want them winning our lovely contest". Chelsea have launched a charm offensive after realising this is the way things work, Roman declairing no more money for Jose after the backlash of buying Sheva and Ballack and bombing everyone out of the water with cash. Now the chavs are trying to pretend to have ethics and pull the purse strings closed.

Also the worrying thing from a liverpool stand point is the problems highlighted in Athens. I noted in pictures from athens a large number of fans wereing the red no 4 shirt of Eng-ur-land. Surley these are not liverpool fans and rather just england fans turning up and wanting to blag their way in. The bigger this thing gets the more knobends it will attract. I hope were not on the verge of another ban from europe.

I been convinced that this has been going on for years.

It's not beyond possibility and at times I'm sure it's happened - more so in the World Cup than in domestic games.

I said this the moment I saw the ref for the final

The match in Japan 2005 was like the movie escape to victory, you'd need to score 3 times the opposition to draw.

The ref for the final always makes Milan win. I think Uefa did not like the fact that england had 3 teams in the semi finals.

Korea getting on quite well in 2002 seemed mighty suspicious, though it was at the expense of the Italians, so hey-ho.

Brazil vs Sweden World Cup 1978

Game was 1 x 1 as time was running out. Zico scores on a header to win game but ref calls off the goal saying the clock had run out. a pretty odd call, especially since the refs assistant delayed the Corner by moving the ball which took another 10 seconds off the clock

that was Clive Thomas

the Graham Poll of his day

loved to make a controversial decision but wasn't a cheat.

Similar thing happened to me/my school team back in about 1981/2

-playing in a cup final, 1-0 down, already had a goal disallowed for a dodgy (the opposition manager gave it) offside then just before half-time we got a corner. Cross came in, one of our players headed it in to the net but the ref blew and said time was up.

We eneded up losing 2-1 and some parents sought clarification from the ref at the end of the game as to what happened.

He said that 'time wasn't up when he awarded the corner but time was up by the time we had taken the corner, therefore under the rules the corner is allowed to be taken, there is allowed to be one touch on the ball but the ref has to blow for time after that' he then tried to claim that there had been a deflection on the header (bullschit) and that's why he blew for time.

The cn't.

but like the murphy's....
