Gomez Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Usually we have some clue as to who our first choice is, Crouch, Kuyt.I have no clue here as to who top of Rafa's list.
Keita Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Do people think we have as much to spend as we hope? Guillem Balague seems to think we dont have millions and millions.
salkavalka Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I gave my vote for Tevez, because he has been playing in PL.
smicer07 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Owen hopefully. Takes no time to fit into the league, proven goalscorer.
Hassony Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Do people think we have as much to spend as we hope? Guillem Balague seems to think we dont have millions and millions.Guillem Balague knows nothing
salkavalka Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Guillem Balague knows nothingMaybe guillem Balague is Rick Parry?
RafaShanks Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Lets sign the feckin lot of them and loan the one's we don't really want to mid table teams. Then they'll be able to play against every team apart from us.
Archangel Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Guillem Balague knows nothing I'd love to believe that but there has been a certain degree of downscaling expectations from our owners in recent days To be honest the answer I'd go for is probably Bent and concentrate on improving our attacking midfield options. Gonzalez and Pennant are not the solution, not a Giggs or Ronaldo and thats going to be the mark No good getting the most expensive table leg on the market if it doesn't suit the rest of the table or fit the use the owner wants it for
Flanders Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I hope Eto'o, on form he is the best of that lot. I have a feeling it will be Tevez.Don't fancy Torres, Owen or Bent much.
Dominus Maximus Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Won't be surprised. We want a star and we end paying 14m for Bent.
Christine Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) Do people think we have as much to spend as we hope? Guillem Balague seems to think we dont have millions and millions. Let?s face it its not just GB thinking that is it? I'm extremely sceptical about how much we have available and Rafa isn't saying anything to allay my fears. I can see one big name coming in ?. and to be honest if Parry is still taking the lead with regards to transfer negotiations I can see even that one being f***ed up. Think we will end up with Bent. *sighs* I can see that happening. Edited May 27, 2007 by Christine
Michael Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I voted for Tevez, maybe more from hope than expectation. The gap between our midfielders and forwards is often so large that any pass to the latter often ends up as, at best, a 50-50 ball. Tevez has the ability to bridge that gap and will help us play more possession football.
RafaShanks Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Think we will end up with Bent. I've heard Rafa's still very interested.
salkavalka Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Here is a good striker.http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2001k_al...renveen-34-goal
jfogarty Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 (edited) Eto'o is a pipe dream,Tevez will probably be priced out of a move and Owen I'd take purely because I dont trust any of the others. Edited May 27, 2007 by jfogarty
don1980 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Here is a good striker.http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2001k_al...renveen-34-goal some well taken goals there
Sion Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Eto'o is a pipe dream,Tevez will probably be priced out of a move Agree with that. You can add Villa and Bent to the 'priced out of a move' list as well. Don't think we'll take the risk on Owen with his injuries unless we can get him for £9m or part of some Crouch deal Torres is a possibility, for sure. Can't see it for some reason though. His deal doesn't represent value for money to me. Just because we're sound financially doesn't mean we can piss money away.
Keita Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 If its Bent because we havent got the money then maybe Owen is a better choice for roughly the same fee.
San Diego Red Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Villa is a class-act he's got skill with the ball at his feet. It's a shame that he'll be over priced.
Guest JV Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Here is a good striker.http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x2001k_al...renveen-34-goalScum were linked with him last week
The Invisible Man Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I'd be hugely disapointed if we signed Bent. He's not that much better than Bellamy and I'd rather we spent the money on someone like Alves and Simao first. For the £15 million I'd rather we take a chance on Alfonso Alves or Huntelaar.
New York Red Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 I think a squad of: G -- Reina, Carson, PadelliLB -- Lahm, Auerilio, InsuaCB -- Carragher, Agger, Milito, PalettaRB -- Finnnan, ArbeloaLM -- Simao, Kewell, LetoCM -- Gerrard, Alonso, Marscherano, Sissoko, LucasRM -- Alves, Garcia, PennantF -- Tevez, Eto'o, Kuyt, Voronin Would win it all for us next year.
