Greek police plan to fire paintball pellets at any fans who riot during Wednesday's Big Cup final, allowing them to mark violent supporters for arrest later on if they aren't caught immediately.

saw this on SSN this morning. The way they are reporting from Athens it seems they are "expecting" trouble, which seems at odds with what happened in Istanbul.

 

Don't know whether it is Sky, UEFA or the Greek authorities but they seem to be looking at the situation from a rather negative viewpoint.

 

Obviously there is no harm in preparing for all eventualities.

i'm sure the greek fuzz are fully briefed on how our fans conducted themselves in istanbul. they're hardly going to rely on trust for the event to pass off smoothly though, so a contingency has to be in place in case anything goes awry.

 

surely the only likely flashpoint is problems with the lack of allocated tickets and those relying on the black market.
