obviously missing out in the ballot has really depressed me. i really do feel like s***.

there is small chance that i will get one of works tickets, but i'm not counting on it.

I have been thinking of going anyway without a ticket. i was there in 2005 and there were loads of tickets at a decent price. If i knew that this years tickets were the same price and availablity then i will defo go. But, i know that if i get there and the tickets are just as expenses then i will probably end up f***ing paying for them! plus, no doubt 2 days after i get back, i will be hit with my ST renewal! b******s.

whats everyone else doing? are people going to go anyway? what are peoples thoughts about the prices over there?

I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place. The only way I will get to Athens is as a steward, and that is not looking favourable.

I cannot afford or justify the amount of money needed to fly over there.

So my backup plan (or rather, the plan is), I am getting rat bottomed with Oakie Bob around town in the afternoon and then watching the final in the Oakie.

i cant really justify it either. But i remember the magic of2005. all the money in the world was worth it.

if works ticket doesnt work out, i do beleive that the prices will go at a decent price. there are so many tickets flying about at the moment, that i refuse to beleive that they will all be sold, especially at the prices they are currently charging.

a large part of me reckons i could get a ticket, without cutting of my arm to get one. Plus, the wife have just told me to do it if i want. but, i dont like getting shafted by ticket touts.

Just bite the bullet and commit yourself by booking the flight - it'll be all over in 10 minutes! I'm in limbo too; can't afford to travel and not get a match ticket, but watching at home will be especially hard after being lucky enough to get to Istanbul. Seeing as I'm unlikely to get a ticket in the UK, I'm clutching at straws now and relying on cfinding and winning a competition!

I am flying over with a mate and neither of us got tickets.....

If I don't get one when I am there then I will watch it in a nice Greek Tavern with the atmosphere...

I just don't want to regret making the mistake of not bothering to go and missing out on cheap tickets and an amazing match (I didn't go to Istanbul as was in Florida and gave tickets to a mate).

Flights cost me £475 from Liverpool to Athens return..... go day of the match and come back next morning... hopefully in time for the parade!

I'm not convinced tickets will be as easy to get or as cheap as Istanbul.

The capacity is less than Istanbul for a start. There seems to be more reds willing to go ticketless this time.

Also, it looks like Milan are not going to return any tickets as well.

I agree - I was thinking of going over on my todd without a ticket, but I get the sense that so many people are doing the same that it won't be quite as easy this time. Maybe cos its the second time so soon after Istanbul and all those that didn't do it first time don't want to miss out again.

dont want to put a dint in your plan mate, but you cant take the hire car out of Bulgaria. if you try and take it across the border and are caught, then you will be arrested for theft

My mate got one on the ballot and I didn't so I've decided that f*** it, I'm going to go. Istanbul was too good not to do it again.

Worst case I'll be in a bar in Athens with a rake of scousers singing my head off hopefully watching number 6 been lifted.

Whats the train journey? Anybody know? I can go by train for free! No ticket like but the trip would be interesting!

I used www.bahn.de

Manchester - London - Paris - Germany - Belgrade - Thellikoniss - Athens 52 hours! or 63 hours! each way!

Going free though so might do!

I can do it for £100 return with sleeping cars both ways (sharing with 5 strangers) done it before (to spain and Italy) but was with a mate, to be honest I don't fancy all that way on me tod, lads in work support Liverpool 1 STH but wont make the trip without a ticket, I understand like but I want to go no matter what, just not on my own for 50-60 hours on a train!

there again there is the £5-700 plain trips,

60 hours on a train at ~ £20/Hour if you value your time is £1200. flight is a much better option, even at the cost.

Not if leave from work is free (not in real terms but I dont actually pay for it now, when I have about £400 for the trip), plus the bonus of the experience of the trip, seeing all the places, meeting people etc. YET I STILL DONT WANT TO DO IT ALONE!

£100 on trip, £300 spends over 4-5 days.

what about fake tickets etc???(is there a big risk of pissing away all your cash and then not getting in like?) I dont know anything about touts but I admit that If i could afford a tout ticket then id jump at the chance... Ive not gone to any games this year so Im sure i'll be blasted out of it but I dont care.. I have been paying off debt all year ad Im almost out of it... I cant afford to go to games usually and live in ireland so there are extra expenses... next year i'll be grand for it though...

anyway what are we looking at for a ticket?? flights will be a problem too though... damn rent due next week... if it wasnt for that id be almost ok for a trip..

I seem to have upset some people with the above comments. I used some bad wording there, didnt mean to fire anyone up but I was just trying to make sure there was absolutely no chance of me goingto the final... as I said , i went to no games and have had no money all year. It isnt that I dont care about what you guys might think.. the guys who go to all the games and still dont get to go..

sorry lads.
