Spurs away and then at home to Bolton.

Spurs are great at home this year, only losing once and with Defoe finding good form this will be very difficult.

Bolton have the hex over us I feel. They have established themselves as a top 7 side now and although they aren't the most attractive side to watch, they are extremely effective.

We could easily lose both of these making 3 in a row...not the nicest of thoughts.

Someone cheer me up?

Barca home

and Barca away

those are two games to shape our season

this year we will fight for 3rd or 4th place, as was always going to be the case

maybe if we get a pile of cash we can fight for 2nd or 1st place next season

The two games against Arsenal in the domestic Cups will shape our season.

Our season has already been shaped with a poor away record in the league. We only have CL qualification to play for in the league and that won't be decided over one or two games. The cups are the same as they are every year and once again our hope of making a succesful season out of a slow start.

Take the games one by one. Do some sorting out of the players. Slap around Crouch, Hyypia and co. We are half-way through the season. Our away form is improving (Blackburn was supposed to be a win, Crouch didn't convert. It cost us). We can get through this season and be in the top 3 in the end. The players need to concentrate. Rafa needs to concentrate. We need to support.

Longest short-choppy-sentence-post I've ever composed.

Time to win 'ugly'. If Bolton can with their squad, so can we.

Why?

Can't afford to lose anymore games this season, home or away. The next two are must win games or else we will fall away from the top four. Win at all costs, I say - even if it's 'ugly'.

you don't think arsenal, bolton and portsmouth will lose any more games this season?

NO

It's time to start doing the right things and playing properly or thats it.. no champions league because Barca will p*ss all over us at the moment.

Perhaps they will, but I'm only concerned with our results. We don't want to be in the position of relying on other teams' results do we?

I must admit I am seriously concerned about the next two games. I'll be happy with a draw at WHL, and a scrappy 1-0 win over Bolton.

Not concerned with Barca at the moment, this is the next two premiership games I'm talking about. We've proved we can compete in Europe, it's the league points we have to scrap for now - starting with the next two games.

Those are both winnable games assuming we get a bit of luck in front of goal. We've been creating 15+ chances per game.

Hurry back Momo, we need the extra 10% posession.

I'd rather stick to our new attacking policy and lose than grind out a boring nil nil draw.

Partly agree. Our record at WHL is not great though, and Bolton are always tough. Not much point creating 15+ chances per game if we lose 1-0 is it? How many times have Bolton created two chances and won 1-0 or 2-0?

Still maintain we need to win - even if it's 'ugly'.

I've lost count of the number of cliches in this thread. :D

He plays for the a*** though, doesn't he?

Good response - that's really going to guarantee us third / fourth spot then!

playing ugly will?

Didn't say play ugly, I said win ugly.

I know the game's at White Hart Lane, but there's no need to start thinking like a Spurs fan.

did you not see what happened when we were one nil down and everyone lost the head and started lumping it around hoplessly?

Ugly football really saved the day there didn't it.

And maybe we can spend that pile of cash on another Djibril Cisse?
