Inexplicably kicks Pennant in the face to give away a penalty in the first couple of minutes, then about ten minutes later somehow manages to keep the ball out of the net with a magnificent goal-line clearance from the same player. He also came up with a number of further examples of Doctor Djimi and Mr Traore, great tackles mixed in with passes straight out of play under no pressure at all.

 

Look in the dictionary under the term 'erratic' and you'll find two pictures; one of Traore holding The European Cup, the other of him backheeling the ball into his own net against Burnley.

 

I must say, although you can't help but like the guy for his effort I don't miss his crazy antics one bit. Quite possibly the worst player ever to not only win, but play a key part in winning Europe's biggest prize.

 

I wonder what the Charlton fans are making of their £3m investment...

I actually don't think he's a bad player but (there's always a but!) he always seems to have 5-10 minute spell in every game were he switches off and does sumit daft. Pity really..like the bloke.

Football started before 2001. There have been plenty of very crap players to with the European Cup. Most of the Steaua Bucharest side in 1986 for a start

Glad we got rid off him. He had his moments, not many mind you, but his neverending tendency to pass to the opposition made me want to kill him.

Potentially a decent defender, but a horrible footballer who should stick to defending only.
