A lesson for the Arsenal match?

Having seen the Gunners match against West Ham, thought has occurred to me that the Hammers unsettled them by playing in their face, not allowing Fabregas and Co time to move. Think that is the way to win next weekend?

Work hard and shut down the opposition when they have the ball? Wow, im sure Rafa has never thought of that one.

Wonder why he never used that tactic against Everton and Utd then? :hmm::bleh:

Think Arsenal have suffered for the alst season or so with having a lot of 'pretty' footballers in their side but no great tacklers or hard nuts. Give them time though and they'll play their pretty football. Hopefully Momo will do his stuff and be in the faces of their midfield!

When we play the @rse away we always keep it tight for 20 minutes or so and then make a silly error or lapse in concentration. We always seem too worried about their game rather than getting a hold of the game ourselves. It's a just like we do at Chelsea too. I think if we take controla of the game in the midfield on Sunday and play it at our pace we will do OK. If we sit back and let them come at us we could have some trouble.

We've been pressing well in the last few games - I suppose we just need to watch them not breaking.

We had a terrible record at Highbury, I never fancied us to win there and I hated that small pitch.

New stadium, new record. I have a feeling we're going to do well next weekend...

The good thing about the @rse this season as well as last is they don't seem to be able to convert their possesion superiority into goals. In the past they would always eventually break teams down. They have also given up goals at home against teams you wouldn't expect them to. A win Sunday would be huge.

f***in hell it was a fair, relevant point sniffer made.

yeah you have to get in to them and not let them run the game, thats true for most teams but especially Arsenal as when they get to play their football they will just destroy you.

usually away from home against them that isn't what we do - so lets see if we have learnt a lesson from West Ham at the weekend.

Well its f***ing obvious isnt it? West Ham have hardly give everyone a "lesson" on how to beat them have they? Benitez has done it himself twice since he's been here. The first thing you do on a football pitch before anything else is work hard and shut people down, not exactly genius like stuff is it? Often, just doing that isnt going to be enough though, i'm more concerned with cutting out individual mistakes that we've been making away from home all season and not converting our chances.

If it's that obvious, why haven't we done it at Highbury then?

We did it very successfully at Chelsea, we just couldm't put the f**in thing in the net and paid the price.

We'll harry, we'll close down, we won't let them find their momentum, but we'll need to be sharp in front of goal to have any chance of winning.

We have but working hard isnt always enough to win a football match, its quite simple.

It was for West Ham on Sunday.
