I think he's one of those players that never really seems to be a Liverpool player, no matter how long he was there. Dunno, never really thought he fitted in, which might explain the muted reaction.

Its funny though, I never thought his heart was in it for us. He will go down in the record books as being an Istanbul hero but unlike Vlad he is not an Istanbul Legend. (If that makes sense! )

I'm sure there'd have been a huge "Meeeelan Meeeelan" at the start of the 2nd half. I think everyone was taken by surprise when he didn't reappear (though the performance of him and Angel must surely register as amongst the most invisible of a partnership visiting Anfield ever).

 

But to me it highlights the downside of waiting until the kick-off of the 2nd half to recognise returning heroes. It's become typical of the Kop over the last few years (Murphy aside the other week) and I can see the pluses - sing for your own first. But surely go through the usuals and then a song for the ex-Red just as kick-off happens.

As Koller has said, got a muted round of applause when his name was read out but nowhere near the support Murphy got when he came back which was a shame.

No it's not. Given the choice in a 1-on-1 with the keeper I'd back Baros every time over Bellamy. That said, I think Bellamy's a much more intelligent player, and I think he will come good for us.
